Did ED go and convince them they can play or did Mumme? How embarrassing for ED they put him on Jumbotron right before half as a great legend, and we are getting our butts beat by Temple.
It was the whiney ref that saved the game. His whiney request pissed off the fans and players.

Arguing is pointless. SMU has the worst fans in the entire country. Accept it.

We have a very weak fans base. We do not have bad fans. Big difference.

Eastern Michigan's are worse.

Yeah kind of a clueless statement to say we have the worst fans. The fact that y'all older fans have kept with the team this long is a testament to true fandom. We have a small weak fanbase because we have a mediocre product. I upgraded from crap cause of Gilbert and his leadership. Sadly this is going to be the chicken or the egg debate. You will have those that think the fans being few leads to bad recruiting that leads to s bad product. Then you will have people like me who think we have a crappy product which leads to crappy recruiting that leads to a weak fan base...

The loudest noise the fans made Saturday BY FAR was when the official told SMU to stop playing music when Temple was on offense. The reaction was funny and appropriate, but it's sad that the most noise we made all day was in response to the official and not in support of the team.

Yes, though I would modify it by saying we have a very small fan base.

Well beforehand we were getting manhandled by a strictly basketball school.

I had told Keenan Holman good job on the TD before the half and he said thanks. I'm obviously the reason he kicked some butt in the second half You're all welcome.

Well put. 25 years of neglect will do that to a fan base. I guess we will have to go this after every win in front of a small crowd.

We also have a very small fan & alumni base. We can complain about "bad fans" all we want, but the fact is our behavior isn't unlike fans from other schools. We're just so small that students not coming to the games and crap like that matters.
For example, us having 500 or do frat [deleted] leaving at half time (or not showing up at all) hurts us because our crowd and school enrollment are small anyway. Those numbers wouldn't faze the larger state schools. It's a numbers game we can never realistically hope to win.
That is why people keep repeating over and over that we need to play teams people actually care about and consistently beat them. It's the only way we'll actually attract fans.

SMU don't get it-we HAVE to overachieve other schools to have a snowball's chance in hell. Just like we do financially. We are last in the AAC in attendance-you don't get to check the standings to see if you will decide to show up.
