I think the latter is very likely. While he may be on the UT list I doubt he is near the top.CoxMustangFan wrote:Honestly, I think he's gone after this season or next. True that BU's unbelievable rise is denying them recruits they otherwise might get. True TTU looks like they will be solid and get potential TCU recruits. It will be a long road.
But they are insane if they fire Patterson. He should be given lots of rope for his loyalty and performance.
Also true that SMU isn't in the same league as TCU, they will beat us 8 out of 10 times and we begged go get into the Big 12 so we could also be a whipping boy.
TCU will enjoy cashing their Big 12 checks but they will lose their fan base because fans come to see you WIN not to play.
2018 when the Big 12 GOR expire will be an interesting time in Texas.
He took an unnecessary potshot at the fans.

I hear charter SEC founder Sewanee fans still laugh at Vanderbilt for getting beat in the SEC too.

My Dad was President of the Texas Exes in Dallas-don't know why anyone would think I was pulling for TCU to beat Texas. I have zero affiliation with TCU. The TCU Model was just used to explain everything SMU was doing wrong for 2 decades. You guys need to decide whether I'm a Tech fan, TCU fan, Whorn lover or Baylor fan. Maybe just fan of good football programs that know what they are doing

Re: There's Trouble In Paradise
Where is this Patterson to UT stuff coming from? UT is not the least bit interested in Patterson. He has a less than zero chance of landing that job. Now Briles - that is a different question.

Re: There's Trouble In Paradise
with what Patterson has meant to TCU and as loyal as he has been to them, I don't see him leaving or being fired. When he's done coaching, I could see him staying on in some other capacity but the guy still has plenty of fire in him

You're right they have. However, they're on borrowed time given the likely future of the Big 12. Tick tock.

Well at least they can collect a nice paycheck for awhile while we sit in the red climbing out of the crap hole known as the have-not conferences.CoxMustangFan wrote:SMU_Alumni11 wrote:Honestly if I were a tcu fan I wouldn't give two ****s about how bad my team was for 5 years... As punishment for TCwho's uninspired play against Texas. Gary Fatterson has vowed to oversee TCwho's upcoming week of practice without any pants on

Sewanee never won a conference game in the SEC. The vice chancellor at the time said that "big time athletics" got in the way of the academic mission of the school. Sound familiar?
Rumor had it that when Sewanee left the SEC back in the 30's they had reserved the right to re-enter the SEC in the future. I had a discussion with the Vice Chancellor and the Athletic Director about this a few years ago and encouraged them to make an announcement that Sewanee was re-joining the SEC for all sports. I thought at least the school would get some cash out of the deal whether they re-joined the SEC or not. They didn't agree with my logic.
