This bye is at the perfect time

Post by ponyfan777 »

Then let's focus on Cincy, then UConn at home and take em one game at a time. All we need is 3 wins to land us back in our 5th straight bowl but who's to say we can't win 4 or even all of them. June is known for strong finishes and the way GG is playing anything in the next 5 games is possible.

This is a perfect time for a break. I know 3 breaks in a season is unusual but we have really needed all of them. We are banged up and need time for some key players to heal.

The extra time before Memphis did pay off in that we totally dominated from the start. Kids were prepared and intense and finished plays. We will need that against Cinny.

Since we lost to Rutgers, Cinny is the key game to the season. Win and we have a good chance to beat the pre season predictions.

And I would love for the skilled offensive players to really have a good game, O line contiune to protect and our emerging national star have another huge game.

If Greenbauer or Shead could be back in 2 weeks, I would like the bye. But since not, I would rather we keep the momentum going. But they did not ask me.

Although I wish Shead a speedy, pain free, and full recovery, I would prefer he not touch the ball again.

I do try. I am just not very successful.

Let's talk about the "pitch" Let's talk about the "pitch".

How the heck are we going to be able to finish the season without another

bye week?, we are always banged up and injured, and this is our third off week, we might

be down to the scout team pretty soon.

We should get Pope back, which will allow Yenga to bump back outside where (I think) he belongs. So yes, the bye is beneficial. Wish we could get Greenbauer and Shead back, but I think (unconfirmed, I haven't talked to anyone) they're done for this year.

Pope is ready now. Still wish we were keeping our momentum from 8 straight scoring drives including 7 TDs.

Can someone explain the "pitch?"

Glad you ask!

It's from the 1980 SMU-Texas game. Specifically, the play where Craig James scored the go ahead TD.

How much did you pay that guy to ask that question? It couldn't have been better scripted by Hollywood.
