Re: To: Rick Hart - GameDay SuggestionsI'm away the FAU game right now - their game presentation is fantastic.
They have area in a corner of the field called 'the come' which is basically a sand pit with rowdy frat boys and little kids running around. They're playing fun music and are doing funny promotions to keep the crowd involved. No 5 year old highland park girls pretending to be cheerleaders

Re: To: Rick Hart - GameDay SuggestionsSorry - that was on my phone. It's called "the cove"
Re: To: Rick Hart - GameDay Suggestions
Even I couldn't take it that far.
Re: To: Rick Hart - GameDay Suggestions
Ok , makes a little more sense!
Re: To: Rick Hart - GameDay Suggestions
Just provide a venue that in no way resembles an SMU football game. Don't have to watch the game; don't have to cheer or participate in any way. Perfect. Oh, wait... there are some bars across Central.
Re: To: Rick Hart - GameDay SuggestionsTimes are changing. We can figure out how to compete for attendance or watch it dwindle. Of course stepping up our recruiting to produce a better on field product would help, but the days where everything revolves around the actual game are ending.
Re: To: Rick Hart - GameDay SuggestionsI think we can all get on board with the no more "mini cheerleaders."
Re: To: Rick Hart - GameDay SuggestionsAgreed C-cup or above.

Keep doing what you're doing, keep getting what you're getting.....
Re: To: Rick Hart - GameDay Suggestionswe could always make the patio area with a slight western decor and then we could call it 'the mustang ranch'.

Re: To: Rick Hart - GameDay SuggestionsHaving designated areas aren't really going to do anything. You have to have fans in large amounts want that and dictate what they like to see in it to make it anything. Like people said, there's bars across the highway... Our biggest problem is our perception of quality to dallas. We are essentially the "my little pony," as people at my work call it, of college football. Nobody wants to watch poor quality football especially when they against similar looking teams. You can put beer in the stadium, you can get c-cup + cheerleaders, and better videos on the scoreboard but that's not going to do anything other than make the current fan base happy.
The real only way to gets fans in there is to have an exciting product. You need a solid 10-2+ team that can compete and win against the big time teams. You need a coach like Larry brown to bring local excitement. All these changing gameday presentations are decorations... If you are a turd with pretty decorations on it, at the end of the day, you are still a turd. I know there are people on here that think we are better than turd status but sadly they are ultimately the minority. Dallas will see us as "My little Pony" of college football until things change.
