JJ no longer wearing SMU gearJJ is wearing a Patriots cap in today's practice....what is that all about!?!??!
Re: JJ no longer wearing SMU gearin order to "no longer" be wearing certain gear, one would have to have been wearing it at some point in the first place.
Re: JJ no longer wearing SMU gearIs this necessary?

I think FTHP is just trying to get his/her posting numbers up BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: JJ no longer wearing SMU gear
You have to schedule FCS teams to become relevant too! 12-0 is only possible if you schedule 4 FCS teams for your OOC!
Re: JJ no longer wearing SMU gear
You might want to buy yourself one of these before you start typing more non-sensible things ![]() BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: JJ no longer wearing SMU gearI'm tired of the defeatist attitude in this forum as well as our student body. Are we just condemned to subpar football forever?
Re: JJ no longer wearing SMU gear
Absolutely not. But I'm not sure what that has to do with you obsessing over JJ's hat. I mean really? I want the man gone and think he's a bum who doesn't care about SMU at all, but you're complaining about a hat he wore IN PRACTICE???? WE TALKIN BOUT PRACTICE?????? REALLY!!!!!!!??????? Re: JJ no longer wearing SMU gearMaybe the Pats can help pay for part of his salary? The interesting thing is that black is not part of the Pat's color scheme. So he will wear the Pat's gear (with blue and red being very prominent) and yet refuses to wear standard SMU gear, with our real colors. Hmmmm.
Re: JJ no longer wearing SMU gear
I hear you blackoutpony, but when you're the face of a program, you are going to get scrutinized, and you are going to be judged (rightly or not) by the actions you take. Even something which could be very innocent can be taken out of proportion simply because it symptomatic of JJ's attitude towards SMU. He refuses to wear standard SMU gear, and how is that acceptable? In the grand scheme of things, it's certainly not our biggest worry (I could live with it), if he actually gave a damn about anything else anymore. Imagine Saban wearing a Pat's cap. His picture would be on ESPN in the front page with gossip in an instant. Look at LB, he wears SMU's gear all the time. In his office, he has it full of SMU pictures. As he put it, it's all about SMU. It's not about him, it's about SMU. See the difference in perception? That difference carries through in everything LB does, and everything JJ does not do.
Re: JJ no longer wearing SMU gear
That is why JJ should be gone! To TCU or to Hawaii wherever he wants!
Re: JJ no longer wearing SMU gear
The difference is, is that if Saban were to wear a Patriots hat, people would think he'd be doing to the patriots, we all know the JJ is not going to the Patriots ![]() BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: JJ no longer wearing SMU gearHe has been in a SMU gear all year, practice included. In fact, I've noticed that most of his interviews ... certainly the last few have been in a White with Red SMU hat. Sterling Moore gave him the Pats hat when he was playing for them, he has worn it before ... now JG is with the Pats, I'm sure it's to show respect/props to him now. If ES, Cole etc. gave him a team hat, he would probably wear that on occasion. Saban would have to wear a different hat everyday for every team ... it's a little more special/unique for SMU I would think.
But maybe the JJ to death haters are right, there is something bigger going on. He is going to coach with the Pats next year?? Not really a big deal for me ... unless he starts wearing another schools gear.
Re: JJ no longer wearing SMU gearSaban coached with Belicheck at Cleveland. I guess he could do it, but not likely, nor likely his style.
Re: JJ no longer wearing SMU gearJune doesn't want to coach here any more so who cares. Maybe he has already started packing his suitcase and put away the SMU hat he's worn the last few weeks. I'm just happy we won't have to put up with a Coach that has obvious public disdain for my school and its heritage and traditions any more. Good Bye!
