Re: Uniform Watch
I think that the blood spatter is disrespectful. But, I could be wrong. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: Uniform WatchI get your point and somewhat agree on the blood spatter. I'm sure the intent is a vivid reminder to all that many have spilled their blood for the freedoms we enjoy and often take for granted. The fact that we have made two comments .... maybe it worked.
Re: Uniform WatchI don't think its blood spatter. If you look closely, the stars side has the streaky look too. I think its the kind of paint blow off, streaky, running so fast the uniforms are coming apart, kind of look. I highly, HIGHLY doubt it's supposed to be blood.
I also think they are absolutely awesome 'MERICA!!!!! BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: Uniform WatchI bet they wish they had a blue jersey like us.

Re: Uniform Watch
It is definitey blood spatter. Although I cannot find the link, I read a story about how it was an intentional part of their attempt to honor Wounded Warriors. While I certainly agree with the idea of honoring our Wounded Warriors, I think that the blood spatter was "too much." Of course, reasonable minds can disagree on things like this. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: Uniform WatchIdiocracy. Absolutely ridiculous. Does not represent or "honor" ANYBODY. I'd be embarrassed to wear it.
Re: Uniform Watch
Annnnnnnnndddd that's why you have no say in uniforms or college athletics in general. Northwestern is in the Big 10 for a reason while SMU isn't. I'm also pretty sure you're in the camp that thinks alternate uniforms have no effect on recruiting. Many have bled and died fighting for this country. If you want to be PC about it, then that's your prerogative but don't moan about it here. Plus, those aren't bloodstains anyway.

Re: Uniform WatchWell we can't say schools like NW and Stanford do not wear alternative uniforms.

Re: Uniform WatchI'm all for crazy alternates/throwbacks/fauxbacks, and I agree 100% that this sh_t somehow matters to recruits, but you must be naive if you think these uniforms are anything more than a chance to wear something different. October was "let's see how crazy we can get with pink" month and then we roll right into November "wear crazy red white and blue and camo...for the veterans of course" month. Not 10 years ago, it was putting a little American flag sticker on the helmet, but each new season, it's become more about seeing how far they can push the line. Are you telling me that no one cared about veterans from the 1920's-2000's? Of course they did, but now it's become part of the business to use it as an excuse to roll out "sick" new uniforms. At least when baseball teams do "Green for St Patricks Day" in March, it is more to celebrate a fun holiday than to feign support for a worthy cause.
Look at this fool, Mike London of UVA, and what he wore last year: ![]() How about throughout the game, the jumbotron shows various players introducing themselves and thanking a veteran they personally know? Would cost nothing, and it would mean something. Or a school could ask that fans donate money to a veterans group (Wounded Warrior Project), instead of just selling camo-themed hats with the school logo? Nah, people love the hats...it shows they support veterans, duh! Come up with crazy transformer/bug's life/future uniforms, but quit trying to convince me it's for a cause. Re: Uniform WatchThe guy on uni-watch is pretty critical of stuff like this anyway, and he has also a theory about "don't let a good tragedy go to waste". Any time there's a shooting/natural disaster/terrorist incident, it seems there's almost a race by sports teams to roll out a 'commemorative patch' or hat or shirt. The moment of silence isn't good enough anymore, there is merch to sell!

Re: Uniform WatchGood job NW and Coach London.

Re: Uniform Watch
How is this relevant? UH isn't in the Big 10 either so alternate uniforms obviously isn't the key to a Big 10 invitation.
