National title for Baylor?

Post by mr. pony »

And it's all because of Austin pols in '95.
Amazing, huh?
The fricking Baylor Bears of Waco, Texas.

(And, of course, JJ didn't have SMU ready when the window opened again.)

Cheers.

They still need a lot of help, but that would be freaking hilarious considering we both hired our current HCs at the same time. They're doing what everyone expected June to do here.

Sad too. But I'm happy for Baylor. Both TCU & Baylor force our administrators into a corner about whether to compete at the highest levels or not.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Floyd Casey is going to go out with a bang against Texas.

PB's defense did a pretty good job tonight. Just saying...
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Really? We're blaming JJ for Baylor having a good team?

Good for Art Briles and co.

Bama/FSU would be a HELL of a game. Really want to see it.

I like Baylor, and I'm a big AB fan. Met him years ago in his Stephenville days and hung out a few times with a mutual friend. I think he is underrated, and that could change this year. It is so hard to run the tables at any level, and Baylor still has a lot of hard games ahead. One loss (no matter how close or who the opponent is) and the polls will kill them I'm afraid. Unlike Alabama, I don't think they will get the chance to lose and still play for a title, and maybe not even a BCS Bowl.

Not me. I am so tired of Alabama, so tired of Florida schools. That's what's refreshing about Baylor.

If Baylor can win out, they should get a very entertaining game against Oregon

I'm assuming Bama vs FSU for the title, Ohio State vs Stanford in the Rose Bowl

If Ohio State, Fl State, Alabama & Baylor all ended the season undefeated, be prepared to read the stories about how much $ the P5 is leaving on the table by not having a playoff system.

I cannot imagine what they would say other than "Next year these 4 would be in a playoff".
