Cincinnati did a good job pounding us on the ground and wearing off our defense. They knew we could score when we had the ball so they made sure we stayed off the field. As far as coaching, I am starting to feel that SMU's problem isn't really June Jones. His attitude doesn't really help but he is actually a great offensive coach, and possibly the only reason we stay in the game. On the other hand, our defense has been horrible, and our coaching has to change. If JJ is given a contract extension, we need new Defense and Special teams coaches!

Very true, but a dropped pass in the end zone, holding call on a running TD, and 2 missed field goals are not defensive errors.

That's true but how did it go so upside down. How is it so bad that it looks like Junes offense is flawless??

Yes, but I am talking about the current season. There is nothing we can change in 2012. In 2013, our defense has lost us every game by allowing 40+ points from everyone we've played!

No doubt we are talent deficient all over the field and the offense shot themselves in the foot, but Mason's lack of adapting to what Cincy was doing was astonishing. The announcers were politely asking wtf while I was screaming WTF at the TV.

Yeah but our offense recruits don't look all that great either. Heck our recruits in general are pretty fcs talented.

The coaches are responsible for getting us players, so if we don't have the talent then that is also on the coaches. Both sides of the ball.
Pope, Yenga, Joyner. Those guys can play.

all the Flag Football excitement really obscured the loss of 6-7 pretty damn good defensive players

offense has been pitiful in the years before this. hal mumme and garret gilbert have a lot to do with the improvement in offense this year.. not JJ.
