The Five-Minute Scoring Drought

Postby CalallenStang » Sat Nov 09, 2013 10:34 am

It's an SMU tradition!

Why is it that we always have a stretch of the game where we go completely cold?

It's called college basketball. The other team is defending. Sometimes it works.

Yes, but for SMU, it is almost exactly 5 minutes long, and it seems like we can never get any of our opponents to also go 5 minutes without scoring

Tell that to TCU the first five minutes of our game.

TCU scored 6 points in the first five minutes. They went 3:36 without scoring.

My point is that while all teams have their droughts, SMU's are ridiculously long and severe.

The Five-Minute Scoring Drought

Not as long and severe as the Doh, tubbs offensive droughts. One Doh drought lasted a whole half. Remember.

Actually a whole game. 28 points, right?
