Hawaii now 0-9,JJ headed back soon?It sure seems like a fit and time for JJ to head back to the islands and try to resurrect the winless Warriors again. He's made enough money here to be able to take less money now and be where he wants to be.
Re: Hawaii now 0-9,JJ headed back soon? They're always crying poverty out there. Might not have the money to buy out another coach and pay for June + assistants.

Re: Hawaii now 0-9,JJ headed back soon?shaping up as a win-win and I really do think JJ will return to help resurrect that Hawaii program once again. He said when he arrived at SMU his plan was to retire in Hawaii and while I don't think he envisioned doing so as their coach, it's looking more and more like a no-brainer.
The question is...assuming JJ leaves after this season...will he be appreciated for what he did for SMU? I personally think he should be because the program is in better shape now then when he got here...and I will wish him well in Hawaii. I hope it works out that way (assuming that will be what he wants)
Re: Hawaii now 0-9,JJ headed back soon? The only way Hawaii buys out Norm Chow is. Hawaii need a couple of $$$ donors to buy out the last 3 years of Chow's contract

Re: Hawaii now 0-9,JJ headed back soon?only 1 year at 1.3 Million-that's still going to be tough for them and pay Jones enough too. I'm not sure their fans really want him back but I bet the moneymen do.

Re: Hawaii now 0-9,JJ headed back soon?Stallion had the good idea. Our CoC pays Chow's buyout and Jones agree to retire from SMU without us paying him any buyout. We can thank Jones for what he has done, rightly so, and and he can return to where he wants to be. Done deal, next week.

Re: Hawaii now 0-9,JJ headed back soon?Clearly it's because they changed their name back to "Rainbow Warriors".
Re: Hawaii now 0-9,JJ headed back soon?
I think in the short term we will all remember the end and the lack of interest/recruiting, but in the long run we will remember how he turned us around (assuming we don't fall back into the abyss when he leaves) "[College] referees couldn't manage a White Castle." -Mark Cuban
Re: Hawaii now 0-9,JJ headed back soon?the Hawaii athletic department is really hurting for money.
Their facilities are falling apart. Its so bad that it took their new AD complaining on twitter for them to just change something like 70+ light bulbs that were out in various athletic offices and buildings. here is an article that sheds some light on their issues http://www.honolulumagazine.com/Honolulu-Magazine/September-2013/University-of-Hawaii-Sports-2013-Go-Bows/Can-Ben-Jay-Save-UH-Sports/
Re: Hawaii now 0-9,JJ headed back soon? They would probably have one or two more wins if they had an indoor practice facility.
Re: Hawaii now 0-9,JJ headed back soon?IF Hawaii got a deep pocketed booster to improve their horrendous facilities I think they could be a force in recruiting. I guess you could say that about a lot of places though.

Re: Hawaii now 0-9,JJ headed back soon?
very true hell, if they could just keep the local talent from leaving for the mainland they would be much better off. Guys like Te'o and Mariota would do serious damage in the MWC
Re: Hawaii now 0-9,JJ headed back soon? They have some stuff in Hawaii that they could sell, and make aaaaaaaaaaaaaa lot of money
