I will

Happy Veterans Day Water Pony & PK.

btw, my Dad served in WW2 in the South Pacific. On the ship he was on while returning to America at the end of the war, an officer called him over and asked him, 'what's your name son?', my father replied and the officer said, 'you look a lot like one of my boys, whose name is the same'. It was my Dad's brother. They returned to America together.

Thank you. Appreciate the thought. My thanks also to all the veterans who preceded me and followed after me.

I have a very similar family story. My great uncles, both who served in the Navy in WWII, served on two different battleships. While travelling through the South Pacific, their ships passed and my uncles waved at each other from their respective decks.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for everyone that serves our country. Thank you

US Navy! Active Duty 1968 - 1970. Damage Control Officer on an ammunition ship in South China Sea. Your welcome...it was an honor to serve.

Good job - PK!!!
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

My brother was a fire chief or whatever the appropriate title would be, on an ammunition ship during that same time. Over in the Med I think. Said all he needed to know was to yell "Abandon ship". Said not much more to do when a fire breaks out on an ammunition ship.

PK, we served during the same period. I was 1968-71 and a U.S. Naval Supply Officer on a DDG. I thank you for your service, my man.

Ah yes Naval Supply Officers. They are the best...they can get you anything you need by hook or by crook. 8) When in Subic Bay my supply officer was out picking some things up and called back to the ship to ask if there was anything else we needed and I told him I would like a pair of aviator sun glasses. He said he thought he could fix me up. He came back to the ship with a pair for me. Turns out while he was talking to me on the phone he looked down and saw a pair just sitting there on a table so he picked them up and brought them to me.
