Are those really more important than an INDOOR PRACTICE FACILITY??!?!?!
Football brings the big bucks. I understand finishing Moody is the top priority at the moment, but we should immediately cover up Wescott Field and build our IPF. HIGHLAND PARK HS has an IPF and we do not...that says a lot!

Someone said we offered JJ an IPF but it was turned down because it was across the street. Is that true? I'm not blaming him, but I also have wondered where we would put it. If only we could pick up the Meadows museum and put it down somewhere where it was more visible to the public driving past it (and could be better appreciated) AND put an IPF there with reconfigured practice fields there.

Also, and people need to realize this, I don't know how much longer the NCAA is going to be around, but as long as they are you can't just put what? $100M into football and basketball over a decade and not do anything for olympic sports. If it was my world there would be football, men's basketball, baseball, and a couple of side sports with possibly two or three for women - criticize me if you want. But that's not how it works nowadays.

BTW, and I remember wondering this before as well, with a new natatorium, does anybody know what we do with Perkins?

I've heard two options.

1. Put it where the soccer field is and move the soccer field to where the current practice field is.

2. Put it where the practice field is.

I think they were leaning towards #1 for aesthetic reasons

A new indoor practice facility between our stadium, Moody, McElvaney and the parking lots would be amazing. It would really up our campus look if we build the exterior using our architectural style!

Not sure exactly where it was supposed to be but there were plans to build the IPF but it would have entailed the players crossing a street and Jones said no. To me that means it goes to the back of the line.

The current plans for a replacement Natatorium are to level Perkins (perhaps save the front façade) and build a new 50 meter pool with external Georgian architecture and connect it to the outdoor pool complex.

That's because June's goal is always to be middle of the road.
