He DOES seem to like Texas quite a bit from what I read for some odd reason. That program's going nowhere fast. I wish we could schedule them and spank them . . . show the world that Texas is OUR state (maybe we share a little with BU but after I found out that that scum, Ken Starr, is the President, I REALLY can't stand them now).Pony ^ wrote:Espn said today that Texas and OSu may be front runners now...I can't see him going to either. Also keep in mind, CA to KU is far from a done deal. There's already talk that his mind isn't made up and he could switch (no LOI was signed).

I would love to see us play BU to tip off next season at the AAC. AND schedule Texas whenever, whereever. Make a statement in 2015.
As for Turner, why the [deleted] would he go to TX? Rick Barnes is a lame duck coach with their new AD

Baylor probably would not want to play us as a loss would cause recruiting problems. At any rate we need to think more nationally in hoops. We scheduled NC State next year and Arkansas. Somehow Kentucky backed out of a game with us. I say try to schedule Indiana or Oregon.East Coast Mustang wrote:I would love to see us play BU to tip off next season at the AAC. I'm all in. We'll be a force to be reckoned with in 2014-15. Anyone who wants it, bring 'em on.SMU 86 wrote:Baylor probably would not want to play us as a loss would cause recruiting problems. I wouldn't schedule to many high profile OOC games but 3 or maybe4 could be kind of fun.East Coast Mustang wrote:I'm all in. We'll be a force to be reckoned with in 2014-15. Think losing Louisville next year, the Mustangs might have to have 4 or 5 high profile OOC games.

Don't think that would be very smart. Still have two each with Memphis, cinn, conn and temple
Re: Cliff Alexander to sign with Kansas
Even with losing Louisville this is still not CUSA, It will still be a 4 or 5 NCAA bid conference.LHS81 wrote:Think losing Louisville next year, the Mustangs might have to have 4 or 5 high profile OOC games.

Re: Cliff Alexander to sign with Kansas
Reading the tweets, Alexander is getting a lot of criticism for the way he handled his commitment. Apparently he picked up his home state's hat of Illinois than sat it back down and put on the Kansas hat. Many are calling it a classless move. From the many tweets about it, he made a lot of enemies with that move.

Re: Cliff Alexander to sign with Kansas
Cliff Alexander has reportedly signed his LOI to Kansas this morning. Kansas will also be pushing hard for Turner and supposedly for Rashad Vaughan too. As far as open scholarships, we have 1 certain opening because Tarik Black is in his final year of eligibility. A second is nearly 100% certain because Andrew Wiggins will most definitely be going pro after this year.
After that, we have a couple of uncertainties. Joel Embiid has been talked about as a potential lottery pick next year despite the fact that he has only been playing for a couple of years. If he goes pro, he will be drafted on the basis of his potential. Wayne Selden and Perry Ellis could both potentially go to the pros after this year, but much less certain. If I had to predict what will happen, I would say that Wiggins and Embiid will go pro while Selden and Ellis will stay for one more year. That would leave Kansas with 3 open scholarships. There is always the potential for transfers too, but I think coach Self has a good handle on which players want to move to the NBA next year and which ones will be staying. He certainly will have that ironed out in the spring semester when the season is winding down and we're getting the late commits/signings.

He may have sent in his LOI at 8:00 this morning, but there are still legit concerns he never plays a minute at KU.HawkinTexas wrote:Cliff Alexander has reportedly signed his LOI to Kansas this morning. It's not nearly 100% Wiggins is gone, it's 100%. Injury or bad season will have zero impact.
Embiid is nearly 100% gone and Frankamp is an OAD (as in one year at KU and the other three at Commuter U). That's four without factoring in any others.

Re: Cliff Alexander to sign with Kansas
Whether any player in all of basketball plays next year or not is questionable. Alexander has signed his LOI, so he is fully committed to KU. Whether he meets all eligibility requirements when the time comes is an open question, but there is a risk in that for any player.CoxMustangFan wrote:He may have sent in his LOI at 8:00 this morning, but there are still legit concerns he never plays a minute at KU.HawkinTexas wrote:Cliff Alexander has reportedly signed his LOI to Kansas this morning. I assume that Wiggins will be gone and every other KU fan assumes that Wiggins will be gone. I don't think anybody is thinking there might be a chance that he stays for another year, but very little in the world is a 100% certainty. I would rate the chances of Wiggins leaving for the NBA as close to 100% as possible, but you never know what circumstances might come up.
Embiid may or may not be OAD. There is a very good chance that he will leave for the pros, but he did not grow up in the United States, so he has much different cultural influences. Again, I would think that he will go to the NBA, but that is far from 100% certain.
How in the hell can you say that Frankamp is going to commuter U? That is ridiculous. He is an extremely good 3-point shooter. He won the 3-point shooting contest at the Under Armor competition and I believe he set a record score. Not that any of that matters, but a shooter like that is valuable. Frankamp is also from Kansas and grew up as a KU fan. His hopes and dreams were to play for KU. The chances of Frankamp leaving Kansas are remote at best.
