I think it is great Rick Hart is bringing back our retro look. The 1983 day against Rutgers was well thought out, but not executed at the full extent because we just changed the jerseys.

Wouldn't it have been better for today if SMU brought back the white helmets with the blue mustang in red outline and wore the blue jerseys to honor the 1989 SMU team who beat UCONN (deemed as the Miracle on Mockingbird)? Just a thought...

Yes, during the darkest Ken Pye days. I'm pretty sure during the Forrest Gregg years. I honestly don't remember if Rossley ever had a blue pony on the helmets.

I would say that today's outfit would look pretty good if we got rid of the shoulder stripes and wore the khaki pants from the Walker era. An older friend told me that the red helmet was much admired when we first started wearing it in the late 40s.
