gregl wrote:Yes, if I remember correctly, Q got 2 years guaranteed and the 3rd is an option. As far as the Clippers recent release of Kittles is concerned, it does provide more time for Q. However, Kittles was primarily an offensive minded player where Q comes in for defense. Time and time again, Dunleavy called upon Q to shut down the opponents fastest player. So, even though the release of Kittles is good for other guards, I don't think it will affect his playing time much. Q will still be called in for what he does best...mess up the opposing team's plans.

I actually haven't seen Q in a few months since he went back to Dallas. I missed him last weekend, because he was busy in LA setting up his new home. I will most likely see him in the next month and if I learn anything new that I can disseminate on this forum, I will.

As his comfort with the NBA and confidence grow, I think Q can earn Dunleavy's trust on the offensive end too. Appreciate the updates on Q, keep em coming if you can.

Update: Arthur's Final List to be released Thursday---The MOST IMPORTANT factor in his decision according to his AAU coach and adviser will be the "family atmosphere" surrounding the program. That is probably the best thing an SMU fan could hear at this point I guess. Also mentions UCLA and Indiana making strong late pushes.

I agree, that could be a good sign for us, but Bill Self and Roy Williams are pretty good at the family atmosphere thing. Self is a recruiting wizard, and Roy Boy can turn on the folksy charm and drop a sentimental tear at the drop of a hat.

Model "Family Atmosphere" down in Waco on their basketball team..

I'm sure he's interested in wearing a flack jacket to practice..
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.

No doubt roy can recruit and would like to pick up Arthur, but friends here indicate that only if he'll stay longer than a year will unc and Arthur be listed together. He may put them on his list, but we'll see.

Go Ponies!

BUTitan...why the hell are you on this site? Go play with your own kind.

Ponydawg - can't find anything to substantiate your quote besides a post on a Baylor website?

Is there any other info out there yet?

Wow. I think this might go down to us and baylor as the other programs will fill up.

Dallas Morning News
Quote:
South Oak Cliff 6-9 forward and top-10 national recruit Darrell Arthur said he has narrowed the list of colleges he's considering to Baylor, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, North Carolina and SMU. Arthur said he will wait to sign a letter of intent until the spring NCAA signing period, bypassing the early signing period in November.

Slim Shady, as he is know by most in the basketball world, cut his list to a final six, according to his South Oak Cliff high school coach James Mays.

"Darrell has cut his list to Kansas, North Carolina, SMU, Indiana, Baylor and Illinois, said Jazzy Hartwell. "This was a very difficult process that took an entire week to complete. Darrell had a hard time deciding what schools to keep on his list and what schools to remove.

According to the UT recruiting site, Arthur's decision will be heavily influenced by his AAU coach, "Jazzy"....also, he is very close friends with Beal (DeSoto) and they want to go to the same school. Of the six schools on Arthur's final list, only Baylor, SMU and Illinois are receiving high interest from Beal. We've got a shot. odds - 10 to 1
