This is a big risk, but I think it is our best hope to take the next step. A revolutionary "O" or "D", that gets recruits excited is our best hope for a brighter future.

Maybe we should hire this guy...I'm only halfway serious, but watch the video. People would come to watch the experiment, at least.

WOW I just read about that guy a couple of days ago! We need to start a revolution in Texas college football. We can do it with a guy like this.

School is about a mile from my office. Awesome team. I believe it is where our own Donte Womack played but I may be wrong.

SMU should be to the Methodists what Notre Dame is to the the Catholics, Baylor is to the Baptists and BYU is to the Mormons. Every Methodist player should grow up wanting to play for SMU and every Methodist household should be rooting for it. SMU's games should be mentioned in the weekly church bulletins. Being a Methodist is a way of life and SMU is part of that life. It should be a strong affiliation. Those Catholic priests are the best recruiters available.

And the baptist ministers are a close second to those priests.

If your team is offensively minded, onside kicking everytime is not a bad idea. You want your offense on the field, so you need to limit the other team's TOP. Let's say you convert 1/4 onside kicks. You give them a short field for three possessions which means less time for their offense and you take away one possession. If your plan is to score 50+ points per game, this is a great tactic. This would be especially effective on run-based, true spread offense teams that thrive on eating up clock late in games. 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

Also works well for the Satanic and redneck schools (Duke, ASU, West Virginia, Nebraska, etc.)

Actually Baylor has been cozy with the Texas Baptists, but has been running away from the Southern Baptists. So, they are getting a pipeline to players by other means, not Baptist ministers. SMU fits in nicely with the Methodist ministers. At least in Texas, we mean something to Texas Methodists. In California - USC is that beneficiary and on the East Coast, Duke is that beneficiary. Unfortunately, players out of DISD top 100, tend to be Baptists or Evangelicals, not Methodists.

I would really like to take a closer look at the numbers he is quoting in video. I would also like to know if those numbers correlate to the NCAA or only high school.

Our offense has been mostly effective this season. The talent Gap in the OOC games was significant and the staff was working out the bugs with the Run 'N Raid. That being said, we cannot keep doing the same things and expect different results. If one of the potential solutions is to go for it on every 4th down and only have onside kicks... So be it. Our special teams haven't been our strength any way

True. Like I said, I was drunk when I wrote this.

Go back and look at the plays we ran in the first half of the TCU game after the blocked punt gave us the ball at their 2 yard line, though. Or our recruiting class this year compared to previous classes June has signed here. The line between opinion and fact becomes somewhat blurred...and I was a June apologist well after the ASU fiasco
