Three comments:

1) More confirmation that Stallion is right - some of our backups suck. They don't want to play Reed at DT anymore, so are moving him.

2) Hollie will rotate as the second string NT from here on out, and get significant playing time. UCF will gash us if we don't strengthen the interior and the number of rushing yards UConn put up had folks concerned.

3) Looks to me like there are going to be two types of RBs moving forward - Power back (Line and Reed) and the scat back (Lagasse, Sims). Line isn't big enough yet to use as a battering ram in goaline and short distance situations, so the Wembley experiment will start again, but hopefully without the fumbles.

So we're blowing Hollie's RS? We better make a bowl if so.

here's SMU's Participation Chart from smumustangs.com. Another wasted redshirt is Nate Halverson

This kind of stuff is why people call for JJ to be fired despite 4 straight bowls - there is no plan for the future when we burn redshirts for 1 or 2 plays a year. Disgusting.

Our next HC is going to have his work cut out for him, becuase JJ is leaving the cupboard bare - just like he did at Hawaii!

I really hope some of those guys can get maybe get medical Redshirts. Seaver Myers played a few plays in the Baylor game last year and then got a medical RS.

New coach will also need some serious JUCO connections....Willie Fritz, come on down!

Lancaster got hurt -- can't blame that, and can't predict that. Someone on here wrote that Seeker got his bell rung in practice, so maybe this is a precautionary thing, an emergency plan for the last 4 games of the season, and if it doesn't work, Reed could go back to NT in the spring. McCleneghen backed up Wright in the middle for much of the season, and presumably will do so again. Besides, sliding him back inside would mean more reps for Minor at DE.

All in all, this sounds like a nothing-to-lose move.

Jeremy Johnson's draft stock wishes he didn't blow a worthless freshman season landing 1 catch.

I hope we don't blow Spencer Hollie's redshirt this late in the season with only 3 games to go. From my understanding Hollie was reshirting to work in the weight room for year which he needed.

maybe SID could tell us whether SMU's Participation Stats are official? They've got so many players wearing double numbers these days it seems it would be hard to keep up with.

Yes. If these moves made some semblance if sense then maybe. But in retrospect wasted years.

especially for solid contributors like Johnson, Halverson, and for guys that just need more time to develop physically like Hollie.
