When a conference bends over for ESPN (MAC Tues night games)

Announced attendance for (8-3) Buffalo vs. (0-11) Miami (OH) last night: 9,895. Actual attendance? You tell me.

I get that smaller conferences and G5 teams need the money and the TV exposure, but Tuesday night games in late November are a recipe for disaster. Especially when the game features a winless home team. Ouch.

MACtion is great, but i'm sure thats more of a matter of miami (oh) being 0-11. I saw northern illinois ball state last week and they were pretty filled up. I wish we played more games on week nights.

Playing games on weeknights would mean the 3 of us from Arkansas most likely could not be there. That would be a pretty big hit to our normal attendance.

Weeknight games would undoubtedly be an inconvenience for some, but it would be a great way to get increased exposure for the program on national TV. That's how Boise and Louisville did it back in the day

Who actually watches these games between two teams in a league no one cares about?

More people than would watch on a Saturday, that's for sure.

More than the offset of all the people that didn't go to the game?

Would we draw any worse on a Wednesday/Thursday night than we would on a Saturday vs. a ho-hum opponent? At least we'd be the only game in town- less competition for entertainment.

I went and looked and we drew 16K for Houston last year, which is a little under the average. But I think the added exposure and better TV slot would probably make up for that.

If there's no other college football game showing, I'd watch that kind of game any day.
In fact, I love having college football games during the week. Because when Jan. rolls around, all the bowls are done, and there's no more college football on TV... life sucks till next spring.

We had 8K tops in the stands for that game and it had to go up against The World Series, Oregon-Arizona State and the NFL so we didn't get any exposure.

We get a lot more exposure from being on ESPN2 that night than being on ESPN3 on a weekend with 50 other college football games
