Gilbert update

SMU quarterback Garrett Gilbert practiced today, taking all snaps with the first-team offense and making all of the throws he makes in games. His passes looked accurate and had good velocity, including one when he fired a strike downfield, hitting Keenan Holman in stride with a fastball that went about 55 yards in the air. After practice, Gilbert reported (video coming shortly) no pain and said he could have practiced yesterday, if the coaches and training staff hadn't taken a cautious approach with him, and declared that he will play Saturday.

Great news. We're going to need Gilbert playing at the level he's played at these last several games if we want to get out of Tampa with the victory.

I think only one was suggesting that. And he had suggested it earlier before any mention of Gilbert even being hurt.
