well, let's all overreact why don't we? While those of us who have no idea what this means are speculating, I wonder if they are experimenting with a red zone look that might feature Reed as a lead blocker or even a potential ball carrier? He's a backup NT so is it possible we see him on both sides of the ball??? Or is he just a great blocker who coach thinks is needed to protect GG. We've got 3 tough games to finish this season and need to win at least 2 of 3. It's not like they are burning Reed's RS

I don't get the Minor redshirt burn. In other words, why not play him from the beginning? If he's learning, put him in passing downs and tell the guy to just go get the quarterback/build confidence and then he can be brought slowly into other situations over time/add moves to his toolset.

And I hope to Doak that we have not burned Hollie's redshirt.

somebody go back and compare the number of snaps Minor has played as a FR and compare that to Margus. We didn't complain about Margus' burning his RS and I would bet their playing time as frosh is comparable...excluding Margus time on kick blocking teams, that is

Margus was just learning football. Minor at the end of the year was one of the Top 5A players in Texas last year. I think he got screwed out of Houston Touchdown Club Defensive Player of the Year. Not comparable. I've been focusing on Minor-he's ready to play at least in passing situations. I bet he's put pressure on the QB at least 5 times in very limited playing time. If you're going to redshirt him-OK. But once he burned his redshirt he needs to play

Btw you can't get a medical redshirt for anybody who played in Games 7-12

Check out today's practice report-I think June is going to put Nick Reed in this week

I was surprised by JJ's interview today when he said that but I'm willing to try anything to get some yards on the ground.

Yeah, I bet. June's passing offense is so vanilla, it has nobody on defense guessing. At least he knows that...

Why would they not move Wimbley back to RB? Is he in the JJ doghouse?

This is incorrect. Spencer Hollie hasn't played this year. Luke Seeker has been out with a concussion. And to answer above, i'm almost positive Wimbley had a season ending shoulder surgery

You are correct sir.

He had surgery, should be able to get a redshirt, since he hasn't played this season.

I'll be honest, I'm very excited about Reed taking the uber-secret delayed halfback draw on 2nd and 17 at some point tomorrow. They'll never suspect it!

Isn't that JJ's 3rd and 17 play?

Unfortunately, move a NT to RB was the first thought that came to mind when I saw the headline
