Just curious...if we are so thin at running back...

Post by Maryland78 »

...that we have to move a DT there, how come we have zero running back recruits? Just saying...

that's the question I keep asking. What's more-June himself considers each of the RBs to be one dimensional players. Prescott blocks, Nlemchi gets a few carries and catches ball out of backfield. Nick Reed is 297 pounds. Baylor has 3 starting quality RBs EVEN THOUGH they are a passing offense. I guess we just hope Shead can come back and learn to hold onto ball

Do we want more competition for Line?

But even if Shead comes back and is a total stud...he's a senior next year. Most teams would be loading up on running back...especially, since Line has no wiggle and JJ doesn't trust Niemchi.

We'll see if we have one committed in February.

Also, Ronnell Sims is listed as RB and Everett Dickerson played RB in HS- wouldn't be surprised if he moved to RB if Shead isn't 100% next year...or maybe June will just move Riley-Ayres to RB as well.

I don't think for a minute that June Jones believes in a Ronnell Sims sized RB-I doubt he's ever going to play there. I can't remember a guy like that playing for Hawaii or SMU. Shawnbrey is he closest

no big deal - we will just grab any run of the mill linebacker we throw on 3rd and 1 anyway.

Ronnell Sims 5-8 190

A couple of June's leading rushers at Hawaii were pretty tiny

2001- Mike Bass HT 5-6 WT 158
Stats 108-552-5.2-3

2004- Mike Brewster HT 5-5 WT 185
Stats 113-722-6.4-6

Rumor has it that if reed isn't the savior at RB, zelt minor is the next up for a switch. After that I think Laseki will get a chance too

Are you serious Lasecki and Minor????? Get real man... Hollie is next in line. Then Ashcraft.

Chris Weeks is quick off the snap and could likely "HOLD" onto the ball

Very good thought, but I like the Ashcraft idea. We have to continue the tradition off Longhorns in the backfield.

Can a RB be flagged for a false start? With the switch, we would cut our penalties down by about a third.
