If you give me the choice of Aaron Murray or Garrett Gilbert I'd go with Murray. He's played at a high level for a couple of years in a much tougher conference where he is playing defenses that are much better than what GG has seen since his days at Texas.
The fact is that although we are all fans of GG, he has only had one season of quality QB play. He wasn't very good last season and was dreadful at Texas. Yes this year he's been very good but the sample size is pretty small.
Don't get me wrong I like GG, but I'd take Aaron Murray over him even w/ the injury.

Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: GG's Status
I will be looking to see if it was GG who carried this team or is it a combo with the receivers making great catches. If we can pull this game with Houston out with Burcham, then we will know.

GG because he's a Mustang.Harry0569 wrote:Better question: Would you take a flier on GG or on Aaron Murray (UGA QB who just tore his ACL, but is record holder for Yards/TDs/etc.)?ojaipony wrote:I'm a big Cowboys fan, and I completely agree with this and would LOVE for this to happen. Dallas isn't going to be bringing back Orton (although I do think they try to go out and bring in a veteran backup) and Gilbert would add to the backup competition in training camp and maybe make the 53 man roster and have a year or two to learn the system. Yes I'd love to have Garrett Gilbert in Dallas.

Gilbert, third nationally in total offense, has been ruled out for Friday’s game against Houston with a sprained MCL. He is questionable for the regular-season finale against Central Florida.
"Everything is structurally sound,’’ Gilbert said, standing with the aid of crutches after Tuesday’s practice. "It just kind of depends on how my knee responds to treatment, so we’ll see.’’
