Not sure the author thought it all the way through. SMU cannot finish any better than 6-2, while one of cincy or Louisville will finish 7-1 since they are both 6-1 and play each other in their last conference game. So, while we technically could catch UCF, we cannot catch both cincy and Louisville. Guessing he just looked at whether we could catch UCF and then included us in his list.
