Get the old quote right. UH fans don't work at 7-11, half of us eat there and the other half rob it.smustatesman wrote:I would have thought that under "Business", UH would have listed all of the 7 Eleven "Employees of the Month" !
That is who it is attributed to, but no one really knows who said it. Prior to the 1985 Cotton Bowl (UH's 4th Cotton Bowl appearance in 9 years in the conference), an unknown bowl official said "Damn it, half of these (Houston) people will come up here and eat at the 7-Eleven store, and the other half will be trying to hold it up." Hoss Brock, the Cotton Bowl's executive vice president at the time said it was probably meant as a joke. No one came forward with which official said it and no action was taken against that official, so Brock is usually attributed with the quote since it was his committee.mrydel wrote:An old Hoss Brock line if I recall correctly.
It wasn't a quote. It was an observation, based on the many 7 Eleven employees I've seen wearing Coog Tees.NTXCoog wrote:Get the old quote right. Meanwhile, a UH troll with multiple user names posts at will.PonyPride wrote:What explanation would you like? Every time someone posts a political photo/joke/comment, it turns into a political argument, touting the virtues of one party or another. This was no different. This has been our policy for years, and there are plenty of other message boards out there for political talk.
Thank you for understanding.
