Some SMU alums would do well to learn that thinking Dallas is all THAT is not a litmus test of SMU loyalty. After undergraduate and law at SMU, I couldn't wait to leave Dallas. Love SMU. Find Dallas pretty but shallow, petty and tiresome.
we get it, move along..

If you don't like shallow and petty how did you handle your fellow typical SMU student?

That couldn't be any further from the truth. If there's any local college team DFW folks would claim, it's TCU
I don't think so. We have more support here than what you have in the city which your school bears its name! 2011: 6k fans being ranked in the top 25...lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
After living in both Houston and Dallas, I can tell you first hand that you couldn't be more wrong. Shocking, I know.

UH has more support. And will probably continue to. This does not mean that we can't turn the tables on our atrocious recent record against them. Starting tomorrow.

UH had great attendance in 2011-averaging basically a sellout the size of Ford Stadium-good attendance in 2012 and this year's poor attendance at nomadic games really doesn't mean much more than the 800-1500 going to our Baskeetball games

Aside from attendance, in Houston you see people wearing UH gear, some coverage in the media and some talk around town. Very little smu buzz around dallas

Nonetheless, the game should be advertised to some extent as Dallas vs Houston. That might build interest and put butts in seats.

If they wanted butts in seats they shouldn't have put the game on a Friday morning. Besides can city vs. city promotion work if few in either city care about the teams in the game?

I doubt that we had much choice in either day or time. We could, perhaps, have turned down the TV option, but times are set by the intrigue of the match up and we lost on that one.
