If his kid with concussion, he should not have put him back in. Then to complains he jumped offsides ?

Oh, and this high and mighty funny from drug issues around his program back to when he enabled Jerry Hughes...

Gary is slowly realizing he's out of his league in the Big 12. OSU, Baylor, and Tech are all trending upwards, and you know OU and Texas will be back in the national title hunt soon. TCU may soon be sweating out those Kansas and Iowa State games if they want to go bowling

Gary seems to be okay with pretty much anything, until it bothers him personally. Then there will be hell to pay. I'm sad he's not helping us anymore.

Maybe its just me, but about half way through that unhinged rant it sounded like he was sorry he was talking, and started backpedaling about "respect for Briels and his program" and "you are going to make this about that one play instead of the game". Its like he can't control his emotions like a 5 year old, and then realizes later he is probably going to be put in time out for throwing an immature tantrum.

I will say one thing - although his rants are embarrassing, i really like how much passion he has and how connected Gary is to TCU and how much they are connected to him. How great would it be to feel that way about your coach?

We could have had that here if we had a coach with half a brain - June has squandered a huge pile of good will by his indifference and arrogance. We would all be standing in traffic to defend him had he just played this correctly and also given the job some effort.

I have to disagree. TCU has tons of talent and can compete in the Big 12. They lost their starting QB at the beginning of the year and even then, they would lose games by thin margins: WVU by 3, OU by 3, Kansas St. By 2, Baylor by 3, TTU by 11 and OK St. By 14. And do I need to mention they blew us out 48-17.
I would not be surprised at all if they are ranked in the preseason, as their recruiting is on par with their conference and they are returning 80% of their starters.

On the other hand, we have been blown out by teams with winning records and won by slim margins to horrible teams. I would gladly trade TCU's entire defense and their running backs to whatever JJ's squad has.

TCU is Elite and is a well managed program, supported by their entire school without exceptions. They think and act like an up and coming football powerhouse program, (loyal growing fan base, brand new stadium, NFL caliber facilities) which is why even being 4-8, recruits want to play for Fatterson. SMU, unfortunately, is not even a shadow of what they are at this point in time. We are plain mediocre and are in a completely different page. Hopefully we will realize the error of our ways and become Elite like how TCU is poised to be in their conference. We have the resources and are in a better location than they are to become a Stanford like program.

Yes. There were maybe one or two that were critical and most including myself gave him a pass on some of his idiosyncrasies.

Rather than work to build on his success, he found reasons to complain and to alienate the die hard fans on our traditions and modest expectations. He found a way to say the exact wrong things and change the wrong traditions and act I differently to external feedback.

What made it worse is that we all saw how he treasures all things Hawaiian and the Hawaiian traditions but would not even modestly embrace our traditions.

Add the perceived indifference to the Texas high school football scene and you get to where we are today. It really is a shame.

Be that as it may, Patterson has some emotional issues that prevent him from conducting himself in a professional manner. The more he loses the more difficult it will be for him to control that aspect of his personality. I am looking forward to his slow downfall.

How much more evidence do we need that this [deleted] is a TCU troll? TCU ranked next preseaon? They just went 4-8, have no QB and lose by far their best player (Verrett).

Oh so now I'm a TCU troll? You complain if I am overly excited about SMU becoming an elite program, telling me I am a delusional fan and to be realistic. And now that I am realistic, and I look things by what they really are, I am a TCU troll. Man (deleted) you and take out that annoying Herman Cain picture. Everytime I see him I get annoyed because he reminds me of you, you negative (gary patterson)face troll !!!'

- i am happy FTHP is here, but disagree with almost everything about his comments regarding TCU. They have not kept up with recruiting within their conference, in fact they are always at least the 5th choice within the Big 12 (after UT, OU, OSU and Baylor - and thats after A&M takes who they want).

Also - their crowds grew with the excitement of the stadium - and if they put a couple of more bad season on the board it will drop like a rock, regardless of the fact they have no competition in Ft Worth

The reason there is so much bad blood between Baylor and TCU is that Baylor is winning most of the recruiting battles - and is taking the spot that TCU thought they would have.

Than you have SMU and UT that are heads and tails above them academically - and SMU crushing them in basketball - and i could see it being no fun over there for the next few years.

Seriously - who are they going to replace? UT? OSU? OU? Baylor with Briles? They are going to be fighting it out to be the best of the bottom half for the next 5 years.

Is their football team heads and tails above us - for sure. Does that matter to either of us right now - only for one game a season.

Someone with some fire could put us in the mix - and we would be dominating a weak conference and making more waves. Someone in our administration just needs to have some guts.

Gary Patterson is a large steaming pile of [Gary Patterson]. That being said, the man does know how to coach.
