UTSA goes 7-5, 6-2 in conference

Post by Pony in SA »

5 wins in a row, and many on the road, only year 3 of program
There's a thread about us losing to UNT, well UTSA went to Denton and beat UNT
No excuses for them, they have 5 and 10 year plans they are working
Played OSU, Arizona, etc non conference
Winning now and don't even have all their facilities built

Again, there is NO reason we can not do better if we want to. My impression is beginning to be we really don't want to as we never seem to have our act together on many fronts. If that's the case, let's shut her down and put money elsewhere.

Yeah at least UTSA actually played a highly ranked team. . Poor Aggies-4 losses in their dream season with Johnny Paycheck they actually have a worse record than MACK BROWN-Ha! it may not come true after bowl games but I suggested that very well could happen during the summer.

UTSA will be better than us if they keep it up. And they don't even have to pay their coach 2m a year!

Thanks, that's what I meant to say! We are sadly the worst FBS team in Texas

Not quite, UTEP is considerably worse than we are but that's about it.

We'd beat Texas St too especially since their freshman QB Tyler Jones has a hairline fracture. Rice would likely beat us UTSA and NTSU would be close competitive games. Interesting these are the schools we have been recruiting against lately. Hmm

Speaks volumes of our place in college football...we should be recruiting at Texas Tech, TCU, Baylor level not Rice, NTSU, UTSA levels...

UTSA is a feisty team and they play with attitude. Coker brought some of that "U" mentality with him. They gave us a thumping last week in Denton and not only do they have solid coaching but a good QB that's leading them. They certainly aren't pushovers. I have to think reality will set in for them and they'll go through some tough times but so far they've done a very good job getting that program together.
