Re: O. T. Auburn /Alabama GameThe aftermath revealed some of the truly disgusting underbelly of college football with Alabama's kicker receiving death threats because of his missed field goals.

Re: O. T. Auburn /Alabama GameJust awful!!!
Re: O. T. Auburn /Alabama GameAs an alum of Bama, I'm really embarrassed by this level of ignorance and stupidity. These idiots need to go to Sunday School! What fools.
Re: O. T. Auburn /Alabama Game
I live in Alabama and, unsurprisingly, the Alabama fans that actually attended Alabama are generally great people. A bit arrogant when it comes to football (which is why I enjoy Alabama losses just for the sheer enjoyment of watching the implosion), but generally good people. The sidewalk fans, on the other hand, can be very scary. A large number of these people derive their entire sense of self worth from that football team and scary things (such as the Harvey Updyke incident and the father literally shooting at his son after an Alabama loss) can and do happen when the thing that props up their self esteem fails them. In a way, Alabama somewhat reflects the best and worst qualities of college athletics. They have some truly scary fans but their football program is driving a lot of big improvements in academics. I don't remember the number, but a pretty large chunk of money gets transferred from the athletic department to the University every year.
Re: O. T. Auburn /Alabama Gamegeez it was a 57 yard FG-that was a little short-he doesn't deserve that. Its not like he missed a last second 52 yard FG against Arkansas that would have given SMU an undefeated, untied season and National Championship.

Re: O. T. Auburn /Alabama Game
That is not the guy they are threatening. The regular kicker missed two or three during the game. The last one was trying only his 3rd all year. He is a long range kicker. But is agree on your other point. ![]() All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: O. T. Auburn /Alabama Game
I would hope these kind of nut cases could be tracked down and prosecuted
Re: O. T. Auburn /Alabama Game
like the guy who poisoned the tree, they need to be prosecuted. Who knows how crazy some of those people are?
Re: O. T. Auburn /Alabama GameThis is one of my biggest gripes about Twitter & Facebook. People can post whatever they want with minimal fear of repercussion.
These people would not talk like that if their actual name had to be attached to it. Those who complain about a problem are simply wasting time they could use to fix it.
Potential is nothing, performance is everything.
Re: O. T. Auburn /Alabama Game
certainly 2 of those posts are worth prosecuting, the 3rd and last one.
Re: O. T. Auburn /Alabama GameAnd it gets worse... Apparently a female Alabama fan killed another woman because she wasn't upset enough over the loss in the Iron Bowl.
http://www.clarionledger.com/viewart/20131202/NEWS03/131202033/Ala-woman-charged-killing-fellow-Bama-fan-after-Iron-Bowl-loss The state of Alabama and both Universities in Alabama need to put their heads together and figure out a way to reign in their sidewalk fans. When people are being killed over a football game, historic landmarks (whether you consider trees that important or not, the trees at Toomer's Corner were one of the symbols of Auburn, Alabama) being destroyed, etc there are fans that need to be told that they simply aren't wanted anymore.
