Re: Ready for Frazier to Step Up!Does anyone else notice that Frazier is just sitting and drifting outside the 3 point line waiting for the game to come to him? Why does Frazier not move without the ball, get open off of one or two picks? Any good shooter knows how to use picks to get open and move without the ball. I challenge anyone to watch tonight's game and count the number of times that Keith either does not get any touches on offense or just sits outside the 3 point line waiting for a ball reversal. For anyone who did not watch the Texas A&M Game, Frazier scored 2pts. That is right, 2pts. I did not get a chance to play in the game, but I am pretty sure that I almost scored 2pts watching the game at home.
Why does Frazier not get more touches? What am I missing? Literally let the offense run through Frazier. Everyone wants to say be patient. Imagine for a second how good our team could be when Frazier decides to really step up. Could be really special. If he does not have a shot, Frazier has the vision to get his teammates involved. He has the ability to get create for himself and get his shot off. Other than Nic Moore, Keith Frazier probably has the highest Basketball IQ on the floor. Let Frazier show us what he can do. How is Coach Brown coaching Frazier? Why does he not take the ball to the basket? Ryan Manuel and Nick Russell have no problem taking the ball to the rack. I can probably only think of 2 maybe 3 possessions where Frazier actually attacked the basket. One was a nice assist. One was passed to a player not expecting the pass, not his fault. Good things happen when Frazier attacks the basket. Again, I know he can do it, just don't know why he does not do it more often. Take over the game. How many dunks has Keith had this year? I cannot remember one. It is not that he cannot dunk. It is more that he is not taking the ball to the basket. Let's see a nice two handed dunk. Maybe an alley oop. Maybe another drive and dish. Keith is a great free throw shooter. Attack the basket. Let's see some and ones. I am rooting for you! Here is hoping that tonight will be Frazier's break out game! Ready for Frazier to Step Up! Pony Up!
Re: Ready for Frazier to Step Up!I see Frazier moving all the time. They run set plays on just about every possession and he moves on all of them.

Re: Ready for Frazier to Step Up!Maybe I am seeing things. I will watch tonight. Good to hear that they are running set plays for him.
Re: Ready for Frazier to Step Up!
They are not just running them for him but it for everyone on offense. "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: Ready for Frazier to Step Up!Good point. I completely understand that Coach Brown is not running plays exclusively for Frazier, instead maybe taking what the defense is giving us and keeping everyone involved in the offense. Would just really like to see Keith Frazier more involved. He can do more than score. Show me assists. Show me rebounds. Show me steals. Show me that he can get to the line.
How many times have you seen Frazier actually attack the basket and finish with a dunk, a layup, or an and one? I have watched all the televised and games televised online and really cannot remember any, maybe 1 or 2 times in 7 games (did not play in the Arkansas game). It is not that he is not capable of going to the basket, just have not seen it yet. Again, maybe I am seeing things. I hope I am mistaken. I will be watching tonight! Hoping for a break out game! The thing is, Frazier is almost automatic from the free throw line. Imagine how good our offense would be if Frazier was more involved. I would really like to see more of Frazier's game going to the bucket. Other SMU players have figured out how to do it in our offense. Why not Frazier?
Re: Ready for Frazier to Step Up!
Ankle sprains tend to limit your abilities off the bounce, but yes I agree with the way refs are calling fouls, it would be great for the Shark as well as our other guards to drive to the basket. "smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: Ready for Frazier to Step Up!Can we just leave Keith alone and let him develop. All we need from him is a Consistent outside threat right now, not to take over. I'd like to see him drive more as well, but his handle is really loose right now, not exactly yo yo material.
Re: Ready for Frazier to Step Up!Ready for Frazier to Step Up! Ask and you shall receive. Great game Mr. Frazier! A sign of things to come. Almost threw down the dunk of the year in garbage time. Really liked the creativity with the follow up behind the back pass. Even saw Keith make a few attempts at attacking the rim. A few assists. A few creative attempts at involving his teammates. Active on the defensive end of the floor. Money from 3. Aggressive on the offensive end of the floor. The man is a Baller! Got to love it! Pony Up!
Re: Ready for Frazier to Step Up!Keith played pretty well tonight, but was probably our 3rd best freshman on the floor. Sterling brown cleaned the glass and didn't turn it over, and Ben had a really efficient game w/big numbers. Keith shot very well, but lead the team in turnovers. Any way you cut it, really good recruiting class, especially if you include moreira
Re: Ready for Frazier to Step Up!I really enjoyed his no-look behind the back dish after that unfortunate dunk gone wrong.
Re: Ready for Frazier to Step Up!
That was awesome. He has some solid no look passes
Re: Ready for Frazier to Step Up!who was the one without the jersey that they talked about in the postgame? Frazier? I missed the 2nd half.
Re: Ready for Frazier to Step Up!Ben Moore was called off the bench by LB. He took his jacket off and realized he hadn't put his jersey back on after warm ups. The bench cracked up as he sprinted back to the locker room. He ran back about 45 seconds later wearing his jersey and the crowd gave him a big ovation. He won't live that down for awhile.
Re: Ready for Frazier to Step Up!Stand Up-I've seen every game and you're right he definitely was out of the flow of the offense in the first 2-3 games. It concerned me that he was so one dimensional and wasn't even producing with his shooting either. That's why Brown patient development has worked. He had to fit his talent into the offense with team play. I like what I've been seeing from him since. Almost every game he is developing his role and he's playing a much better floor game in all phases . He had a great bounce pass to a Big tonite. He'll be fine. If you were grading his performances after each game his GPA is steadily improving.

Re: Ready for Frazier to Step Up!Stallion - Always enjoy reading your posts. I agree with your point about Coach Brown being patient with the development of Frazier. Coach Brown knows what he is doing with Frazier. Frazier's performance is definitely improving. He is starting to show better court vision, offensive assertiveness and movement in the offense. Here's to hoping for a true break out game soon. Can't wait!
