Signs for UCF

Post by coloradoStang »

Considering bringing a couple "Fire June" signs to the game with a few buddies. I've only followed SMU since I started school here, but I (like many of you) don't see much upside to the program if we keep him around. And am worried we are being left behind and in the future will have no school to root for in college football.

Considering basic "Fire June" maybe a "10 mil for what? 0-34" and "don't settle for middle of the pack (with an AAC logo)"

anyways we don't want to offend the players at all because we appreciate what they do, also I'm sure June is a great guy we just need a change and I feel like students doing something like this can be written off as "just dumb college kids" so we can get away it with a lot better then some of you angry alums can but it still shows the guys in the suites the student body is not happy.

It's a way to make our opinion heard, that a change needs to be made, but we don't want to offend players, or hurt recruiting (if there is any) by showing discontent in the program. Is this just totally classless or a halfway decent idea?

Thoughts? Comments?

I think your basic one is the best bet.

Now that's not nice. He is still our coach and we do not want to demoralize our players...don't be knuckleheads. Wash your dirty laundry at home and not at ESPN!

I understand June has fallen short of expectations, but remember that he turned an absolute losing program into a decent program. He got us to our first bowl in 25 years and has won 3 out of 4 bowl games in the past four seasons (3 of them by huge margins). You don't have to like him or support him, but please be civil and respectful.

I would like to think that SMU is a classy school.

I thought the same thing about our alum, until I started visiting these boards.

Email the AD en masse. Protesting on TV doesn't target the right people and just makes SMU look bad. I sympathize with how frustrating this is...

All the announcers will say is how ungrateful we are to want to fire the great coach June Jones. Anybody who isn't watching our Rivals.com rankings crash doesn't understand.

I don't think that'd make us look very appealing to prospective coaches... and the media would make us out to be ungrateful [deleted]... (though I'm with everyone else that wants June gone)

just show up with a bunch of buddies and bring paper bags to put over your heads if the game gets out of hand. No signage needed.

Read your ticket-they are not going to allow signs like that-the fine print is too small for me to read but I'm pretty sure its in there. I know they also make that announcement about demeaning or disrespectful conduct towards officials, players or coaches is grounds for removal

Any prospective coach will be far more focused on the 25K empty seats in the stadium than a few random signs.

He would probably take more notice if you threw socks.
