Interesting Notes:
- While the SMU endowment is around 1.1 billion, SMU is only free to choose how $50-$75 million is used; the rest is directed by the donors.
- Out of 120 athletic programs in the U.S., only 14 of them made money, or broke even.
- Too many interesting notes about the death penalty, SMU football, and the dissolution of the SWC to make a 1-liner.
- Average SAT to get into SMU is now 1250-1260; and increases, on average, about 10 points per year (1900 if you count the new writing component).
- 70% of students at SMU have some sort of financial aid.
- 13,000 students will apply for 1,400 freshman undergrad spots.
- Since 2008, SMU's athletic deficit has gone down by $3 million.
