Obviously love his play. I do have concerns about our reliance on a point guard to get so many points. I am hopeful someone else is going to step up an provide some reliable points. We need a go to guy when the game is on the line and having a 5' 9'' PG be that guy, scares me.
Like everyone else, I am still hopeful Frazier is that guy, but man he looks very average.

My only concern with having a scoring point guard is that he develops bad habits. As long as we have others willing to step up at crunch time so that he does not feel as though he has to force the issue, we will be ok. If he has the opening he needs to go for it, and he has been successful in doing so for the most part this season.

Nic is averaging almost 6 assist per 40 min. and has assisted on 27% of teammates baskets while he was on the floor. Both are far and away the top stats for SMU (both are about league avg for PGs as well).

Nic also played off the ball a ton last night. Scored 20, but most were as a 2g

Nic is a past first point guard. I'm not sure what bad habits you're talking about but, If he has an open shot I think he's confident he can knock it down. Like I said in an earlier post you guys have seen him play only 10 games if it helps the team then we shouldn't worry where the points come from. I'm sure he won't be the leading scorer every game.

Disagree about him being a pass first point guard. Creating for others isn't his strength, it's shooting.

At this point Nic has got to keep scoring. If not it will be tough.

I guess we'll agree to disagree.

Creating for others is definitely his strength. He's a very good passer and shooter

To clarify, I definitely believe he creates for others. My concern is that because we don't have many scorers, he may develop bad habits. I am very grateful that he is an SMU Mustang.

Nic absolutely creates for others and makes everyone on the floor better. Good thing he has 3 point range to open and spread the floor when necessary. Anyone remember Bobby Hurley? Very similar games in my eyes. Hurley was not a good 3 point shooter as a FR; he worked hard to improve that aspect of his game knowing how it would help spread the floor
