/\ I don't see GuyMo running up the score. Longhorn - please get rid of that ugly damn baby in your sig, for the love of Gawd!

I wouldn't be surprised if more smu coaches jump ship before season is over.

So how many FG tries is it going to take our kicker to get that one lone-FG? Since he hits the backside of our centers on a regular basis right now...

SMU 24
BU 14

Jumping ship? Hmmm, well how about the # of BU fans brought down from the raftors at Ford Stadium with a crane prior to their suicidal jump attempts: 4,385...

At least y'all get to play your D-1AA twin-sister insitution from Alabama the next week.

I'll stick with my original prediction:

BU 35
SMU 7

I say that, although I think the game could be either very close, or much worse for SMU. SMU will be our toughest non-conference opponent, and I think that the team will be ready for them. The one thing that could help SMU is the fact that so many of our receivers have been hurt during fall practice.

I guess Mosley will just have to get 200 yards and score 3 TDs. Shouldn't be too hard for him, though.

I think there are a couple of things going on here that will help SMU out:

- The 7-v-7 tourney that SMU killed Baylor in will provide confidence.
- The last game in Waco was close, and will give SMU confidence.
- Practices seem to be going pretty well, with no major injuries.

I think this will be a very close game. SMU is much better at home than on the road. Keep in mind that we have held TT close in two home games, and they are a much better team than Baylor.

SMU 24, Baylor 21

I think fans of schools that have sucked for as long as SMU and Baylor should refrain from boastful predictions unless pestered by Division 1AA wannabes. Nothin' worse than a cocky loser.

Baylor 41
SMU 13

Hate to be a loyal SMU fan and post that score, but it could be a very ugly game. This is a much better Baylor team.

If Baylor beats us that bad then this will be Bennett's last season. Oh wait, I almost forgot, coaches with losing records get contract extensions at SMU. I find it funny that fans of losing programs talk smack. Frankly, both teams are horrible and will get waxed in their respective conferences. I hope I am wrong about SMU though.

HEY... your SMU. You cannot play the schedule card on us. You play in one of the worst conferences in the NCAA... Compared to us, your schedule is cake

Due to WR injuries, I hear the Baylor coaches are game-planning a running game only (no passes whatsoever). Does that bring back memories (since ponyfans seem to stroll down memory lane alot on here)?

How did Barley House Bennett answer the questions we had for him at the luncheon?

I was referring to the fact that your team at least had a W the next week against Samford; not that your entire schedule was easy. You will AT LEAST go 1-10 next year b/c you will beat Samford. Make more sense?

And that's great y'all have a tough SOS -- it would maybe be important if you were contending for the MNC. Doormats are doormats. You couldn't beat UNT on the road, or UAB on the road. And those road-games weren't even close. You also lost to UAB at home. So you would finish in the middle of the pack in CUSA at best. Being the doormat of the SWC didn't translate into being the best in the WAC for SMU, TCU, Rice before you try that logic.

I swear, some of y'alls fans (and probably some of ours) need to just have a few drinks (we won't tell your pastor) and take it easy over this game.

It's 2 weeks away, and regardless of the outcome, tomorrow will happen after the game is over ... unless you are Guy Morriss or Phil Bennett and you just lost the SMU/Baylor game.

W or L, I think SMU will be in better shape. W and we might set up some momentum and have a good season. L, and a repeat of '02 is likely, and then major changes will occur that could really give us a boost forward.

If you're BU, if you win -- so what. If you L, how much are you paying him again?

Actually with the BCS, we're NOT pestered by ncaa Division 1AA wannabes. We ARE Division 1AA. Baylor's just a LOSER. See hiring Bliss, etc.

can we get Clif Notes on some of these posts?

BU has been improving ever since we hired a proven coach. SMU played BU his first season. We have improved since then - and have some players you would swear are Rivals 100; they would be, had they committed to ut.

We have an OLine that is 30 pounds heavier per man than your DLine. This is not blubber. Our guys are quick. In fact, we beat a&m with quickness (a&m is real fat and slow). Our #1 RB has already said he will outrush Adrian Peterson - we will see. We have several AA candidates.

We have some real threats on special teams; our defense, though unproven on the line, is very fast; we do have Rivals 100 talent in our LBs, DBs, etc. All to say, you will have a better shot at winning in collieville, than Sep 3.

Promise me you will not get "down" after this game. SMU should not fire Phil (he's a great coach and building it the right way), though as I have said, it wouldn't surprise me if more 'stang coaches didn't quit before the season is over to pursue other interests (life insurance sales or whatever).
