JJ said he had leverage against SMU on contract negotiationsModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: JJ said he had leverage against SMU on contract negotiatI just don't see why he would put down his current employer in the local newspaper and on national TV on ESPN.

Re: JJ said he had leverage against SMU on contract negotiat
He needs a fall guy for his failings, who better than his employer? He knows he can get away with disrespecting SMU (see the Arizona State fiasco). They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: JJ said he had leverage against SMU on contract negotiat
Because he's doing the exact same thing he did when he left Hawaii. Said they wouldn't commit to winning. He's gone. One can dream.
Re: JJ said he had leverage against SMU on contract negotiat
He's unbelievable. I hope he's gone. Having watched dean spanos give norv turner two more years than he should have, I can say keeping him here anymore will only end very poorly for both sides. The good feelings will all be gone if this clown is allowed to continue to disrespect our program by not giving a shiiittttt BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: JJ said he had leverage against SMU on contract negotiatI just wonder if SMU is going to allow June to publicly slap them in the face and still come crawling to him asking him to sign a contract.

Re: JJ said he had leverage against SMU on contract negotiatany coach could have won 5 games with this ridiculous schedule, and any warm body would have done a better job recruiting for 2014.
Good riddance June. Don't let the door hit you in the asss on the way out.
Re: JJ said he had leverage against SMU on contract negotiatNobody on here amused by June's postgame comment for Rich that he was disappointed for the players because this group of seniors was his first real recruiting class?
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Re: JJ said he had leverage against SMU on contract negotiat
For your argument, you're using the exception that proves the rule. SMU bent over backwards to accommodate Frazier. The fact that he was really the first example of this shows that prior to Frazier we only did this in a very limited fashion (i.e. DJ). I get ripped every time I post this, but it's the truth. SMU is more willing to accommodate today than they were even a year or two ago. "It's a couple hundred million dollars. I'm not losing sleep over it." -- David Miller
Re: JJ said he had leverage against SMU on contract negotiat
They did the same for Kevon Gamble as well. Mason got Ricky Collins to commit and he signed but did not pass the NCAA Clearinghouse and had to go to JC. They only people that have not gotten in are the ones that did not pass the NCAA clearinghouse. Last edited by Rebel10 on Sat Dec 07, 2013 6:47 pm, edited 2 times in total.

Re: JJ said he had leverage against SMU on contract negotiat
Because he doesn't have anything to lose. At this point, why don't you throw down all the cards and get SMU to more fully commit? We can wheeze along another year or two and he'll get fired. Or he can throw down the gauntlet, maybe get some more concessions and take it to the next level. He has nothing to lose by forcing this issue IMHO. "It's a couple hundred million dollars. And 1 of the 5 wins were against an FCS team. #HammerDown
Re: JJ said he had leverage against SMU on contract negotiat
It would not surprise me if the allowed it. Think about how they allowed him to p!ss in their face by recruiting for ASU on our nickle. They just smiled and said 'carry on' jj we love you..
Re: JJ said he had leverage against SMU on contract negotiat
Recruits and parents here those things said on TV and in the newspaper and it hurts recruiting to say publicly negative things about the school you are recruiting for. Now June and/or the next coach will have to fight this stuff he has put out there. #HammerDown
Re: JJ said he had leverage against SMU on contract negotiat
and the other 4 had a total of 10 wins, only against each other at the bottom of one of the worst conferences around.
Re: JJ said he had leverage against SMU on contract negotiat
You're may be right about Gamble getting a customized curriculum. He must had passed NCAA clearinghouse because I believe he was admitted (was on football roster) and then (I think) was an academic casualty and ended up at TCU. I think Collins went JUCO, but then ended up at TCU. Not real familiar with these two guys' stories, and I have no first or second-hand knowledge. I'm sure Stallion will chime in momentarily and correct any of my misstatements. ![]() "It's a couple hundred million dollars. I'm not losing sleep over it." -- David Miller
