Offensive or Defensive Minded Coach?

Post by RE Tycoon »

Assuming June is gone, and Chad Morris or Kirby Smart are not the next head coach at SMU...do we go offensive or defensive for the next head man?

Defense wins championships, but I feel like that rarely applies in college these days for teams not named Alabama. To compete in the AAC we're going to have to put up points.

Thoughts? Either way I hope he puts together a Larry Brown type staff.

offensive coach, without a doubt. someone who can actually create the high powered offense we thought June might be capable of implementing. No reason we can't put up serious points each and every game in this conference, and high scoring games certainly grab people's attention.

^ This is the most important thing. Doesn't matter what the coach wants to run he needs to recruit top talent for it or he'll fail here.

You can let Pres. Turner be the head coach as far as I'm concerned, if we will get a staff of hungry, young recruiters to build up the talent base.

We already have a new coach. Offense will be the "mindset"

You are one of the least knowledgeable posters on this entire board, yet you have inside information that no one else has about a new coach. makes sense.

whoever the coach is, they should be looking a juvenile detention centers and recent parolees. There is a direct correlation to off-field issues (non-academic) and on-field success!
