I was there, I sat in Bus's seats, because he managed to finagle some seats inside. I would have said your estimate was pretty close.

I was a wuss and sat in a suite. I had a great birds eye view of the stands, I can't believe there was ever more than 1,500 on the stands.

Well I am sorry that 325 miles of ice kept me from kicking some UCF butt out of my seats. I asked Ponyte to have his daughter go down and get them out but I guess she was not able to get it done.
Certainly not directed at you mrydel. However, there are many in section 104 that live within a few miles of campus that didn't go. Very similar to the "blue seat" sections in the old Moody. Supposedly they've always been sold out, but yet except for big games, they are usually very empty.
Well I can only speak for Row 8 in 104 but most if not all of us live 10 to 325 miles from Ford. I live only 10 but I could not get out of my neighborhood even with a trail rated 4 wheel drive jeep. We all attend almost every game. I know that some 104 fans obtained club level tickets and were up there.

Horrible. Yet, all of the "veterans" in this forum prefer that we keep that way so they have their monopoly of SMU games. I want the 50k. I want to lead us in getting them. Let's do it guys!

Our house is really small. People make fun of it like it is a high school stadium. I want a way bigger stadium to be built. The likes of BOP and ECM will say we do not need a stadium since we only bring 10k. They quote that in the 80's when we played in the Cotton Bowl and Texas Stadium...we brought only 30-40k people. They forget that each was a decent 10+ miles from the stadium. We need to build that new house for 50k. We will bring the fans. Fans like awesome new stadiums. Fans like awesome programs red hot from 10+ win seasons. Of course we will not expand the house right now, but after several 10 plus win season we should plan to expand our house. 30k won't be enough when we start winning.

[quote="feelthehorsepower"] A big chunk of those people were UCF fans too. CNN ran a story on our attendance yesterday, SMU is back to a national joke again. If Turner/Hart don't make a change, this program will slip further into a hole. If JJ comes back, it will tell us all we need to know.

especially when people could tune in to see the OU vs OSU game being played to the north and Texas vs Baylor down in Waco being played in similar weather with packed stadiums. I thought the announcers were kind to us saying there was 2 inches of ice on most of the roads around Dallas, making it virtually impossible for people to get to the game...and I suppose SMU students living on campus just don't have suitable cold weather attire that would have allowed them to come out and support the graduating seniors again...kudos to those who did show up but this was just one more example of how mickey mouse our football program is these days

Roads were still dicey but Rich Phillips managed to show up from NRH - our fans dont care unless its big time, if Moody isnt packed on Jan 4th - we are completely lost as a fanbase

I would have and wanted to go, but I'm up in the Deerfield area of Plano, and we had two huge Red Oak branches fall on our drive way (which was about 2 inches of ice) and couldn't get out of our effing garage. Very disappointed!
