Camps/Support/Awareness

Post by 35straight »

I've been told that we no longer provide football camps for younger grade school kids. I believe that this is a huge oversight by our program and we miss out on an opportunity to turn campers into fans. More importantly fans that need parents to bring then to our games.

1. Recruit Dickerson and Primetime(if necessary to provide naming rights to the camp)

2. Invite back all current/former NFL Mustangs to make appearances.

3. Give tours, let then run out onto the field with an announcer.

4. Provide parents with information on the school and how many kids are actually on some form of financial aid or scholarship.

We need to remove the stigma that Dallas kids and families share about SMU not being inclusive.

Running them out to an empty stadium would certainly properly prepare them...but I agree with everything you said. If Deon Jr. Is going to get playing time...daddy needs to be wearing a whole lot of SMU ties and polos...
