I'm sure it was cold in Waco, but they are a hundred miles south of us and I bet their game time temp was warmer than ours. I hate being cold and my feet were freezing! 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Easy answer -

1. Win 9 to 10 games annually -

2. TV Blackout for all home games to the DFW area -

Problem solved!
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

I'm not sure what the roads were like in Waco, but I had every intention of driving to the SMU game from Fort Worth, and I wasn't able to get out of my driveway on Saturday morning. Without the ice I'm sure the usual 10k-12k would have attended.

Even easier- tie student eligibility for basketball tickets to football attendance.

Swipe your student ID at all five 2014 home football games prior to the start of basketball season? Get first priority for bball tickets. I bet the student section would be rocking then (comparatively speaking, of course)

I knew that when SMU offered free tickets that it would backfire, and make us look stupid.

Way to go SMU !

you actually thought offering a free ticket to people that could not give a squeeze about SMU on an icy weekend is gonna work, when you can't even figure out how to get 10,000 boulevarders in the game on a beautiful day..Unbelievable.

You could not have paid me enough to attempt to get out of my neighborhood that morning.

The rest of us made it just fine. I had a great time until we lost at the end.

Hahaha, no, but I heard about that. The days of me taking shots at 1pm ended a few years ago, unfortunately.

SB Nation is not one entity. It's not "SB Nation rips SMU Football", it's "Some 14 Year Old With SB Nation Account rips SMU Football".

i roughed it by watching in non-hd since my frozen dish wouldn't let in hd.
i couldn't get off the driveway until sunday. first time i have missed a home game in years.

that must have been the all-time lowest real attendance in smu history. insead of slamming us they should congratulate the few, the proud, the brave who somehow got there despite the ice covered streets. i salute you, mustang fans.

Well obviously a lot of us didn't make it just fine. I couldn't even get out of my neighborhood.

But Cheers to all of you that made it.

I thought you guys made a lot of noise on TV!
