The former SMU star, now the star punter for the New Orleans Saints, drew a flag last night in the New Orleans/Carolina game when he was called for tackling Carolina's Ted Ginn, Jr., by the facemask.
Not surprisingly to anyone who knows him, Morstead took to social media after the game, apologized to Ginn and suggested the penalty was a result of him not performing well enough in the art of punting:
Apologies to @TedGinnJr_19 for the face mask tonight. I'm not the most experienced tackler....
Need to punt better so I don't have to tackle
Not a huge deal, but a classy thing to do, and something most players never even consider.
