Re: Jonah Bolden to SMU?Wouldn't that be Bolden to UCLA? ?
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Jonah Bolden to SMU?Damn this one really sucks, one of the best prospects and most realistic left on the board. Brown needs to bring in another high-caliber wing with Mudiay and I don't know where that will be coming from at this point.
Re: Jonah Bolden to SMU?
That's quite a drop-off in talent from Bolden...
Re: Jonah Bolden to SMU?
I'm not that worried, unlike you, I don't see wing as a huge need. Bolden wouldn't have started next year over a senior Manuel, soph Frazier, even brown etc. the backcourt, 1-3, will be mudiay/Moore and Frazier or manuel. LB always goes w seniority. Also, Delarosa represents and actual positional need. So does a kid like Dom Matthews should we pursue
Re: Jonah Bolden to SMU?We didn't get him but it looks like we made it interesting for UCLA. No consolation in that but at least we know the staff is still all over it.
UCLA lands ESPN 100 PF Bolden By Joel Francisco | December 10, 2013 3:36:04 PM PST After a slow start to the 2014 recruiting race, the Bruins appear to be finding their groove as they landed one of the nation's better unsigned prospects in 6-foot-8, 205-pound power forward Jonah Bolden (New South Wales, Australia/Findlay Prep). The ESPN 100 recruit chose the Bruins over SMU, USC, Indiana, Louisville and Kentucky. The Bruins were seen as the favorite and it appeared to be only a matter of time before he chose to continue his career in Westwood, despite Larry Brown and SMU making a strong push. Bolden is one of the better under-the-radar prospects in the country, but he was able to exhibit his talents in August at the adidas Nations event in California. The finesse 4-man is a willowy, skilled prospect with an intriguing skill set. He can face up his defender and either drain the 19-foot jump shot or display his underrated passing skills. He needs to get considerably stronger and much more assertive, especially in the paint, but his upside is quite impressive. Steve Alford has a nice nucleus arriving in Westwood next season with the likes of ESPN 100 prospects Kevon Looney (Milwaukee/Hamilton) and Thomas Welsh (Los Angeles/Loyola), as well as skilled 5-man Gyorgy Goloman (Weston, Fla./The Sagemont School). Along with Bolden, this group will provide the Bruins with length, skill and savvy. If UCLA can somehow land a point guard, Alford will have all of his needs met for the 2014 class. Re: Jonah Bolden to SMU?Great to see us getting press like that. It's getting to the point where people aren't going to do a double-take when they see SMU listed like that.
Shake It Off Moody
Re: Jonah Bolden to SMU?
Agreed. If one wants to play in a big city, it's hard to beat UCLA.

Re: Jonah Bolden to SMU?Obf, we're in on another sf, check out daviyon draper, he's a juco kid. Saw him w Compton magic, he can go. Range and bounce
Re: Jonah Bolden to SMU?
Is that Don Draper's grandson by chance? "smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."

From one "willowy" prospect to another ![]()
Re: Jonah Bolden to SMU?
I'm having a hard time finding film on him....any links you got? And for the life of me, I can't remember this kid. I saw the Compton Magic at the Adidas Super 64 but I don't really remember him. That team was pretty stacked though if I remember correctly. Thanks for the heads up by the way, I appreciate it. I assume Draper is a direct-result of Bolden heading to UCLA? Wonder how their board sits right now and what they think they can squeeze into this class or if he might just bank some schollies for what could be a banner-type class next year. SMU is riding high on a lot of '15 guys lists
