"The win snapped a three game losing streak to the Cougars. It also helped the Mustangs to a 5-6 record, earning head coach Tom Rossley co-Coach of the Year honors in the Southwest Conference. Randy Galloway, writing for the Dallas Morning News at the time, stated, "SMU went 5-6. To me, that qualified Rossley as the country's most legitimate coach-of-the-year candidate. And that doesn't mean coach-of-the-year in the 214-area code, or the SWC, or anything west of Gene Stallings in Tuscaloosa. That's national coach-of-the-year for Rossley."
If Coach Phil Bennett goes 5-6, would Galloway say the same?
Oh boy!!!! When Stallion wakes up, and skakes off that commode huggin' drunk from last night............... man are we gonna get it!!!! not to mention poor Randy Galloway! LOL

Greater than winning either one of our two Cotton Bowls victories in our History? Greater than the debut of the Pony Express by beating No.2 UT in Austin? Greater than Doak Walker's Classic matchup with Bobby Layne which lead to SMU First Cotton Bowl? OK I say this game makes the Top 90 but at least 50 spaces down. Probably PonyLite Greatest Moment No. 2.
