Joe Schad is reporting that it is NOT a done deal, and CBS Sports says Mack will decide whether to step down or not in the next 48 hours.

Mack seems to be handling things well.... unlike another coach.

See this is how the SMU job could be going. I never thought SMU would fire June even without a bowl, but he might not want to continue without a raise and with an illusory extension. I think all the cards would definitely be on the table by Tuesday-today. I am concerned there is no appetite for a buyout-but what happens if there is no appetite for an illusory extension by June or a buyout by SMU. Does he really want to be a lame duck with poor prospects for good season in 2014? That's when the attorneys and agents could get involved and might extend negotiations for a few days. June might be better off with a negotiated buyout and pursue other options. I'm sure the UT situation may be in that stage right now. Both SMU and June have got to realize this is a bad situation for both parties

In the first post about JJ's extension, there was a comment about no buyout in the extension. Do we know this is the case?
