With regards to Line, I think this was his best game.

As far as next year's starters go... I don't want to speculate on that this early. We seem to have guys we think are going to be contributors go down in Spring/Fall practices. I was a little disappointed with Shead before his injury. Not sure if it was because the offensive line was still in flux. What I would really like to see is Line lined up as a FB in a goaline package.

I liked the way Burcham played. Did he set the world on fire? No, but it is going to be a great building block for development.

I like the way Prescott Line played. He ran hard and squared his shoulders. For all of his detractors. How fast we forget what a "catastrophe" is was when we were losing Shawnbrey after the Hawaii Bowl. All of our comments were about how we were going to be stuck with this converted LB who still looked like a FB. He seemed to do OK. Prescott is further ahead compared to Zach at the same stage.

Pope. The Pontiff played his heart out both way. Really going to miss him. I wish him a world of success going forward.

Loved how the kids competed. Tough conditions and tough opponent, and they fought to the end.

Much love to the people that braved the elements and got there.

SMU's QB situation is not good-its a huge questionmark. We need to get out of thought process of penciling in 'a guy" and hoping everything "comes up roses". We need 3-4 quality recruits competing at every position. Recruiting

Rebel - let me clarify. Line would not be my first choice as the starter. I think that Shead and KC are better home run threats. This would really force opposing defenses to make tough choices. The point of my original post was that UCF was his best game of the season.

PL has a lot of detractors on the board. It always bothers me a little when the kids get called out by name (I'm generally OK when you mention a group WRs, OL, LBs...etc or referring to a specific play). We, PonyFans, sometimes act like we have forgotten that these are kids and not grown professionals. As a general response to the detractors I wanted to illustrate that PL has progressed more in his first year than Zach did. Will he be as good as his brother? Probably not, ZL had a great career.
