Playoff Access

What are our chances with the Playoff Access? I would say better in the AAC than if we were in a P5 Conference. Of course, we would have to have a much improved team, but with a good recruiting/coach, we should have a shot. Two things have to happen after that, however, we have to be able to win against TCU and/or Baylor teams (both should remain on our schedule) and correct the rest of the OOC scheduling plus have the Committee weight SOS strongly since we are in one of the two stronger G5 Conferences. After all Fresno would have made it this year with just 1 or 2 wins against good teams had SJSU not beaten them and UCF from the AAC would have been chosen this year anyway as it turned out.

As far as playoff access, I would say zero chance. The 4 teams going to the playoffs are selected by committee (consisting of TV, NCAA and P5 officials) so those 4 teams will be P5s. But we could clinch a berth to the Fiesta Bowl or Chik fil a, Cotton bowl. The other ones (Rose, Orange, Sugar) are blocked to non P5 teams. So there's really only hope to get into the Fiesta bowl if it's not one of the bowls in the playoff.
