Tough draw for UCFI don't know what the AAC's revenue sharing plan might be, but this just doesn't make any sense to me. I thought most conferences allowed the school that actually qualified for a BCS game to keep 50% of that revenue before sharing. Anyone know what the Fiesta pays and what the AAC is allowing UCF to retain?

Re: Tough draw for UCFBowls are dumb if the fans cant go- but mostly dumb from a financial standpoint. ESPN has you by the balls
Re: Tough draw for UCFcan't blame the Orange and Sugar for picking "name brands" so unless they profit from it, UCF actually gets hosed in this deal...although it should certainly help their recruiting if they put on a good show against Baylor, though
Re: Tough draw for UCFEver heard of a road trip UCF people? Pack the car, stay with friends/relatives cheap hotel. The game is before school starts back up, right?
This is really embarrassing if a large school can't do better than this. Beat the hell out of anybody!
Re: Tough draw for UCF
Yeah, I think Fiesta probably knew they had a stinker of a draw. Too bad, I think it will be a good game. Beat the hell out of anybody!
Re: Tough draw for UCFThey have over 100,000 alumni and 60,000 students. C'mon.
Re: Tough draw for UCFSince the AAC is a BCS conference this year their share will be like any other BCS school.

Re: Tough draw for UCFBoo-flippin-ho. In 2009 flights from Dallas to Honolulu went from $1,000 to over $2,000 during bowl week. Suck it up and drive for the day.
Re: Tough draw for UCFIf they don't like it they should have let someone else win the conference.

Re: Tough draw for UCFNot just this game - we hear this yr after year from dozens of schools
Re: Tough draw for UCFLiving in Texas we have been pretty insulated from the economic down turn and recovery problems some states have had to deal with. Having said that, I do not know what the overall situation is in Florida. I'm not saying that is the reasons for slow ticket sales but just throwing it out there. Maybe someone a with a little more insight can comment about where Florida stands economically.
GO MUSTANGS!
Re: Tough draw for UCFReal estate in Florida and California usually lead the nation in sucking whenever there is a downturn.

Re: Tough draw for UCFIMO we had a lot more people at the hawaii bowl than they are talking about going to the fiesta bowl.
they need to suck it up and go. I am sure prices are less than to hawaii.
Re: Tough draw for UCF
Florida was really overbuilt as well. So when the downturn hit, the supply far out paced the demand. There were a couple of years where Florida had negative growth, a first in the State's history (more people moving out of the state than in). As the nation's economy improves, FL will recover (tourism). Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall
