In the context of the thread I believe smusic is disputing the veracity of fthp's claim that he too ordered an smu license plate

My bad.

The plates look good, though I think I prefer the older ones:

Nice thing about the new ones is you won't get confused for support JJ Pearce HS Mustangs or any other HS in the state.

I mean, show me the pic of those on your car in 4 weeks when they arrive. I can go on that site and put some letters in, then copy the jpg and post here, too. In fact, when these plates came out before, we all did that for a while.

So now it's cool to pick on people that you don't even know. I don't need to prove anything.

I'm just glad I got mine when I did. Good for another couple of years.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Good question. I paid for a 5 year deal on it and assume I would have to turn it in after that, but now that you ask maybe I won't and will just have to pay a higher fee every year. I think though that they usually make you get a new set of plates every 7 years due to loss of reflectivity of the plates. So maybe I get to keep it for 4 more years. Yay!
