News flash. Their schedule is February 1, February 15, and March 1. Really though, at basketball games on regular 4,8,12, and 16 timeouts, it's not like the crowd sustains some sort of frenzy. They should not be thrust out there on opponent-called timouts (nor should there be piped in music. The only response to that is the Bank playing Peruna, followed by other spirit songs until the ref blows the whistle).

Geez if it wasn't for the Blue hairs and the families with kids we'd have about 150 fans at these games. I know what you guys are saying but the Blue hairs are showing up in pretty good numbers and the kids in the stands are about the only ones who act like they are having fun when they are on camera

The area in the loge between the marble tops and the blue seats seem to be kind of an open space dead area. It will be interesting to see how that affects noise levels.

Please do not throw batteries or water bottles like they do in College Park, or just chant F%CK DOOK the entire time. Be loud, be rowdy, be clever, but you don't have to be [deleted] to have an intimidating environment.
Yes, you do. Being clever and having cheer sheets is for freakin nerds. You want urine running down the opponents leg. No mercy, and yes I'd peg mrs boozer w/an aquafina bottle again.
I'm with Hoop all the way on this. Im so tired of the SMU country club atmosphere.[/quote] I don't know, coke fueled entitled country club students can be pretty loud and obnoxious

When I was being a sarcastic schmuck yesterday about not liking certain elements of the new build, this was one of my main concerns. I've never seen a college arena w/so little seating, so close to the floor. The first level of five rows, should be 7 rows. The wall is absolutely huge. It needs banners or posters on gameday or something. Then, we have the loge area which is essentially a dead space area, then we have the regular folk who start way to far from the court, for being such a small arena. The place was designed to be posh, just look at all the screens, the enormous scoreboard, suites, loge area etc. doesn't look like it was designed to be a snake pit, unfortunately. Comfort for our fans over making the other team uncomfortable. To me, that's a small fail. Certainly, I'm ecstatic to be back on campus and I appreciate everyone's efforts, but for a college hoops arena, I feel we missed the point a bit

The scoreboard is NOT too big. May or may not be low, but size is not the issue. I think they could have gone bigger without being obnoxious.
As for the seating, when I was there yesterday, there appears to be more seats in the lower bowl than pre renovation. The key will be students showing up to make noise. I've sat up in the regular stands and down low in the "blue" seats (current club level) where I sit now and there are olds everywhere. Again, the noise will or won't come from the students and the olds will follow.
Don't underestimate the effect that alcohol will have on making fans more lively, especially 30 something alums.

Name one other 7000 seat arena w/a jumbo torn that size, not many. It's not a bad thing, just strikes me as sorta gaudy. I'm also not a fan of 60 inch tvs in a 10/10 room, but guys everywhere do it. Personal preference. I'm not comparing the lower bowl to what used to exist. Based on the many pictures floating around, we have very few seats in the bottom third of the arena. To me that caters to the wrong thing in college hoops. I've been to a billion and one gyms, and Moody looks more posh than most, which is great. It just doesn't speak to noise and intimidation by design.
