It sort of seems like a parallel universe when SMU's basketball program is in way better shape than A&M, Houston, TCU and Tech

I wish we'd schedule them all especially Texas and Baylor. Baylor would be a handful but beating Texas consistently would be great.

So would inheriting a billion dollars but it's probably not going to happen.

SMU was competitive, not dominate when we didn't have a player named Krebs, but competitive in a SWC that included Arkansas.

This SMU team would beat their Texas team right now. And I only see us getting better in the near term, don't know about Texas. So, my point is that I'd like to get them on our schedule now and the next few years at least . . . I'd like our chances . . .

I think it would be a good game that could go either way. From Barnes perspective there would be no benefit in them playing us. Also, I think we need to play a BIG10 and a PAC 10 or ACC team rather than focusing on the old SWC because we need national exposure not just Texas exposure.

Yea, I have no urge to do some nostalgia-based tour of the swc. Play national ballers from legit conferences, does more for the program.

Has TCU ever been consistently better than SMU in BB?

yes under Billy Tubbs who was 13-2 against SMU

I was about to say, for a short period of time when they had Kurt Thomas and then Lee Nailon. Under Tubbs with Nailon, they were Top 25, so they weren't just beating us.

OK, I defer to you. You know more than I do. I would just like us to beat these teams in SOMETHING that matters since they kill us in football . . .
