Amen. What a shame that NTSU and UTSA have made a bigger commitment to football than SMU. Turner and Hart are the problem.

Let's make the best of it and take their word for it. At least all 3 have mentioned restoring our "Championship Tradition" and that is something that I will jump in the bandwagon with them if we are going to do it. However, I do believe we should push Hart to reinstate the coach happy hours and the luncheons...If June is staying he needs to connect with our campus and with our community. Larry Brown has done a tremendous job with Basketball, so if June is what we have for Football, we have to stand behind him and do our part to increase our attendance and get our students/alumni/community to go. ARE YOU IN OR OUT? I'm in for my school and our football program and look forward to seeing us improve these next few years. PS: I think I owe two SOBs here some drinks...
Here is hoping more of the "diamonds in the rough" start panning out.

Yes- there is something we can do. That is- not buy tickets and not give donations to the MC. Tell all those that send you promotional email from the school to take you off of their list until the school is serious about building a winning fball program. FTHP- do you really believe this crap about building Championship football? REALLY? Isn't that what the charlatan was brought here to do 6 years ago? AM I IN OR OUT- OUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after supporting and being a fan/alum for over 60 years I will no longer accept the mediocrity of this admin.

My two cents. JJ has a majority of the CoC in his pocket so Hart had very limited options. The good part of the CoC is they keep his salary off the books, but the the bad part is it limits the autonomy of the Athletic director. There was no announcement of terms which I think is good. It means he didn't get better terms and maybe reduced. The extension was minimal in terms of years. Maybe June will work hard so he is attractive to other teams so he can get of this contract. The outcome should have been different i e Jones not getting renewed. But this outcome may be the best of bad choices. Renew Mustang club for basketball and other sports and if you must protest thru a boycott, don't renew Fball season tickets which only affects the coach at issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You do indeed owe me booze, but I'm not sure there's enough of it to successfully drown my sorrows right now.... You realize I didn't want to be right, right?

I have supported SMU forever and always will. Doesn't mean I cant push for change in other ways.
I will reduce my season tickets - but will keep my MC where it is because of basketball.
This better have a short term "out" clause - or we are clueless - and by "we" I mean the folks supporting June - which I think is more a couple of key BOT's rather than Hart - but that is just a guess.

T-21, as long as people give to MC then they are supporting RGT's decision and that is exactly what he wants. I am sure his attitude is " yes, they will beatch and moan but they will still ante up, so I still get the funds that I want/need.' Until people stand up and say NO MORE' he will not pay attention. I sincerely wish there was an easy way to get he and casper out of here.

I understand where you are coming from. As a former soccer lettermen, the mustang club helps with non rev sports, so it's important to me to continue to donate. Also, since I am in Dallas and want Basketball season tickets, I will continue with my donation. Am I frustrated. Yes, and I will be adjusting my enthusiasm for football until we have a coach who acts like he wants to be here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hart has very little power to make any decisions, he looks to R.G.T. before making any decisions.

The devil is in the details, folks. Maybe I'm naive, but a three-year extension is only as good as the guarantees in the contract.
June was going to get paid for 2014 no matter what, right? If you fire him, you have to pay him AND the salary of the new coach and staff. That's a lot of lettuce to eat, even for SMU boosters. It's not fiscally responsible to make that kind of a move at a school that doesn't have big TV dollars coming in.
I would be willing to bet this is an extension in name only. The three years is for recruiting purposes, so that the few recruits who are interested in us don't get scared off. If you extend June just one year, that sends a message that he isn't going to be sticking around.
I would also be willing to bet none of the money past 2014 is guaranteed, and there is either no buyout or a minimal one. And I'm betting that after the 2014 the season the public climate will be more conducive to fire "the coach who brought SMU back from the dead."
Sometimes you have to take a step backward to move forward.

Yeah it would actually be better if we scared off our typical kind of recruit. The new coach is just going to run them off anyway (at least he better if he's serious about winning) so it doesn't make any sense to stock up on them.
