Re: Hart EmailsWhat is he really going to say that will appease anyone at this point? Emailing him is good so that your voice is noted, but it's not like he's going to respond with something like "golly, I had no idea people felt that way. Sorry for my brief response but I've got to go fire June now."
His responses have to be PC, it's not like he can give a response that is anything but supportive of the current situation and the program.
Re: Hart EmailsGet over the ASU thing--it is now plainly obvious why June felt he had to try to leave. The university and our administration never timely executed, and is still finding reasons to slow play and play the blame game for fulfilling those promises made to him as conditions to come here in the first place. Any new candidate, despite the money that will be thrown at him will not leave their current job for SMU. Our administration simply has no credibility.
Personally, I believe the administration feels it only has three more years or so, and doesn't want to expose our internal problems when a search for a new coach is so protracted that it exposes us for what we are--a school that wants to win, but doesn't want to make a university wide effort to do so. Again, that starts at the top. If you love the big-time Hart hire, you would love the big-time high school coach we would have hired to replace June.
Re: Hart EmailsLOL. Yeah all we did was give June $10M, change the stadium lights for him, change admissions policies, and bend over backwards for him after he humilated the university with the ASU stunt. Your blind hatred for RGT keeps you from any level of objectivity.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Hart EmailsI think I can get over JJ and ASU as soon as;
1. he leaves and 2. stops being a classless pr#ck at every turn ;whiny baby about lack of support, alienating the alumni, snubbing the MC with no more interaction in lunches/happy hours, penciling in loss/wins, and being a horrible example for the team ==storming off the field before Varsity after a loss, every time he opens his mouth to the press and rounds up old buddies to write articles that have paid two minutes attention to SMU prior to JJ's contract negotiations, blowing smoke about facilities Last edited by HorseSense on Sat Dec 28, 2013 6:41 am, edited 1 time in total.
It makes sense to me.
Re: Hart EmailsJune Jones knows damn well there isn't another program in the country that would bother giving him half of what we are giving him here at SMU. The fact that we even considered an extension is an indication of just how dire the financial situation is at SMU.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Re: Hart EmailsNo, he pretty much nailed it.

doesn't care who wins. -- Dwight D. Eisenhower
Re: Hart Emails
It's not do much him wanting to go to ASU but he did not have to berate SMU while trying to leave. I thought he was over that but then he continues to berate the school publicly as he is triyng to renegotiate his contract over the last few weeks. #HammerDown

Re: Hart EmailsI have written Casper, our friendly AD ghost numerous times, and yet still haven't hit " Send". I just cannot keep my sarcasm, contempt and disgust from shining through.
As BS as I am right now (like RGT trying to find an erection)... If there was a plan... If Rick Hart called me with a plan for the future of SMU Football detailing how JJ fit into that plan and I could buy into it... I would live on PFs.com trying to convince you guys. I would be so persistent, you would long for the day of mustangabu being the lone holdout. I would be more annoying than Cougar King, Reedfrawg...etc. Alas... We have Casper. He communicates more and says less than any other AD I know. From my perspective we stayed with JJ because it was easy. Keeping JJ and mediocrity is easier and safer than doing more. Let's be real... He had to answer to big money donors. Did he sell them a plan? Did JJ? I doubt it. It is easier to sell we no longer suck, than to get them to close their eyes and dream bigger... I transferred to SMU in 1993. SMU took a big, big chance on me (trust me... They did). I thrived. I would rather take a risk, than just flounder. We are just floundering. I still love SMU Football all of these years later. Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall
Re: Hart EmailsGreat post STC9
Re: Hart EmailsThe egos of some of our ponyfans brothers amazes me. You really think that Hart has any obligation to tell you what is going on in negotiations? Please.
No one on this board has any idea what the extension says and until it plays out we will not. You can email him all day long and he will respond all day long, but he is not going to detail anything to you. Write the $10,000,000 check and sit in the room with the ones that do know what is going on. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Hart Emails
Personally, I don't expect an AD to tell me what is going on in negotiations or the exact language of the coach's K- buyout clause, benchmarks, etc. I do,however, expect our AD to have a plan for the future and to communicate those action items to fans, alums, and supporters of the program. If I had to guess, that is what most pony fans want to hear about. It is not out of bounds to ask (or even demand) from our AD the following: What are our goals, and what do we need to do to reach those goals? Brown and Co haven't done anything except recruit and win the games they're supposed to--- but we see the plan in action and recognize the upward trajectory of the program. Most see the exact opposite wrt football. My $.02
Re: Hart EmailsHe has answered every question I have ever seen posed to him. Just because some do not like the answers, and especially those that complain about detail does not make him "casper". Again, why do any of us deserve more than him saying what he has been saying. That is, that he will address the needs of the program and do his best to get us to where we need to be? I am sorry if people do not like it.
If you ask me how I am going to improve lending to low income families at my job I am going to give you the pat answers that all would expect. If you ask me about a specific borrower, and what I am doing with his or her loan, you will get only lip service because it is not proper or appropriate to do more than that. Let the man do his job. Time will tell whether he is successful in what he is doing. But please quit the complaining that he does not spell out answers for you in public forums or private emails unless you are a spoke in the wheel that drives the program. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
